To be honest, nothing in that story indicated if any of the things that were mentioned were believed by anyone. All the story points out, is that they have been spread around. From what I can tell, passing around a story is no indication that someone believes in it.

The bigger question is how anyone can be taken in by spreading what is clearly link bait.

Downside is that a lot of power is wasted though as it can only absorb a couple 100ma out of the 1800w being produced by the microwave, so it's best to charge as many devices as once.

What's worse is the amount of people that are really, really, fucking epic stupid. Look on some of the "hoaxer" websites on YT vids and it's amazing (in a bad way) that so many cannot examine simple facts and come to a logical conclusion based on those facts. Many actually believe that rocket engines cannot work in outer space, there is no "air" to push against!. Then the "flat-earther's", gee, I guess every photo of the planet from every nation that put up a satellite is all a "hoax" as well. It's mind-boggling in a very sad way.

Yet another example of mass stupidity is the anti "smart-meter" movement. Organizations are actually going around and slapping "WARNING! DANGEROUS EMISSIONS!" on smart-meters claiming they cause cancer and a myriad of other ailments. Meanwhile those same folks are using cell-phones which are also transmitting RF energy two inches from their skull. Not to mention they all probably have routers in their homes, cordless phones (again with the transmitter two inches from they skull) yet somehow all these are OK. Since the smart-meter was installed by a large power Co. it HAS to be evil!.
