I thought I had bought an ATI X800XT. It was an OEM pack and thus no fancy box or anything - just an antistatic bag, the card and the driver disk. Now there was a sticker on the bag saying X800XT I am pretty sure of that BUT....
I actually built the rig a few weeks ago, and having given the system time to burn in a bit and make sure everything is stable, I have been OC'ing and doing the 3dmark 05 e-penis measuring thing over the last few days. currently I am up to 4200 ish and was comparing on the site today the other setups and clocks.
When I pulled up my project - I was horrified to see 3dmark has it down as a plain old X800 and not an X800XT. The clock speeds were 500/500 (I hadnt got round to even looking at OC'ing the gfx yet as I am still trying to max out my CPU) on my 3dmark project.
Soo - I am at work and cant see the physical card itself right now, nor my home PC. Having a quick skim through the net its actually impossible to find a site (even ATI's) that says definitively how to id the cards for sure.
So what should the clock speeds be?
I know it has 256mb ram (but can I ID by the memory chips?)
It may say in device manager but I know they can be detected incrorectly if the clock speeds arent right (well this was the case with 9800's anyway)
And I cant check the the Pre-POST screen because it has dissapeared by the time my monitor wakes up.
Any help on a definitive method or application that will 100% ID my card would be greatly appreciated before I go into the shop and have a shouting match
