Half right . . .

IF they saw better, they would care.

My elderly neighbor has lived with 60hz for the last three years (win98/333Mhz and el cheapo e-machine integrated graphics) . . . when I set her up with my old computer (WinXP/1.2ghz Tualatin Celeron/Radeon Videocard), SHE NOTICED and MUCH prefers 85Mhz on her 17" CRT.

It hurts my eyes at 60Hz unless I use a very low res, when I had my 19" CRT I kept it at 85Hz,now I`ve a LCD it doesn`t matter .I know some people prefer 100Hz or even higher ,however on my old 19" CRT I always found the best image quality was at 85Hz even though it could run at higher refresh rates that was within the recommended settings.

60Hz is just sick
I hate looking at the screen running that low a refresh rate!!!!!!
some monitors only support 75 around here, but thats still worlds better than 60!

It's a funny thing. I supervise a bunch of people who all work from 19" monitors. 800x600 res and refresh at 60. If I try and change any of these settings they freak! This ain't no joke. I can look up from where I'm sitting right now and that's what I see...weird.

I'd rather goto sleep with a stobe light in my room than look at a 60hz monitor for 2hours. It would drive my crazy, even at 85hz i see a tiny bit of flicker in the corner of my eye, i used to run 100hz but i bumped up the res and how i can only run 85hz max.

Oh yea, and the guy with the sony @ 60hz, the monitor probably is just getting old and can't refresh it right at above 60hz, if you look at a new monitor @ 100hz the difference is night and day.

Have senn some people that just got used to it I guess. I personally can't stand it, I'll get a headache in minutes.

On CRTs it now gives me a headache in five minutes. It sucks when they lock down every friggin option on a PC and you can't fix the refresh rate.

First thing I do when I reinstall windows... change the refresh rate to 85 or higher. Then cleartype.
60 Hz: I can't stand this at all.
75 Hz: Bearable for a few minutes.
85 Hz: Nice.
100 Hz: Really nice.
120 Hz: Heavenly, but I have to run a lower res.
