Alright, i could probably think of a million stories like this, but let's take the most recent one. This is real. I saw it on CNN last year. Don't believe me? Here is a recording from ABC News, see for yourself. Someone has yet to explain it. How can people not believe in aliens after stuff like this happens?

Why is it whenever people see something like this, they always automatically assume it's extra-terrestrial life? The words "top secret government project" are always the first to come to my mind.

i believe in aliens, but not because stuff like this happens... i just think that of all the other worlds out there, there has to be at least one other with some form of life. this kind of stuff however, i dunno, doesnt' strike me as conclusive evidence that aliens exist.

Because top secret government projects don't tend to float around in the air and wait to be videotaped and seen by hundreds of people?

<< i believe in aliens, but not because stuff like this happens... >>

Yeah same here. This kind of stuff just adds to it.

Well, after reading up a little on some government projects of the past, I've found that they aren't always as covert as some people may think. I mean, yes, the technology and development is kept very hush hush, but military planes have been tested in broad daylight over civilian areas before.

Don't get me wrong, I think the universe is far to vast to say that we (all life on Earth) are the only living creatures that exist, but I hesitate to say that we've actually been visited by others.

It's hilarious how every time a group of guys fly at night in ultralight planes with lights, a bunch of people automaticlly assume they're UFOs.

Now, I have no proof that these were ultra light planes, but at the same time, nothing is inconsistant with it either. And there have been a bunch of incidents in which ultralights flying in formation with lights have been mistaken as UFOs.

Have you even seen the video? How the HELL can you mistake a plane for that?

What I find hilarious is that people automatically think of extraterrestrial life when they hear the abbrevation of Unidentified Flying Object.

Easily. A bunch of lights floating accross the sky can EASILY be, and has been, a bunch of ultralight planes flying across the sky. Even in formation.

However, THESE lights, as per witness accounts, weren't even able to keep a tight formation.

BTW, don't mistake camera motion for the motion of the lights. The pictures of the lights jerking around were just the cameras moving. The witnesses all described the lights as "gently floating across the sky," just as an ultralight would appear to do.

Ultralights wouldn't be picked up on radar by the airport? The noise from them couldn't be heard?

Because the fact that someone, or even a hundred people, look up at night and see lights they can't explain is hardly compelling evidence of the existance of aliens?

Look, before the advent of circa 1950's 'Aliens From Mars' B movie genre, there was no such talk as there being aliens. Ancient cultures saw lights and the only way they could explain it is to invent some nonsense about Gods. Today, we prefer an affinity for alien explanations instead of some 'God of Fire', but the underlying logic is still the same.

Ultralights are very quiet, and are very small. If flying low enough, no, they wouldn't be picked up by radar, and if they were, they could be mistaken for birds.

Okay, if this is E.T. gliding overhead, why don't the aliens just land on the White House lawn already?

I definitely think aliens are somewhere out there, but I highly doubt they've visited/abducted/anal-probed us yet.

Do I believe in extra-terrestrial life? Yep.

Do I believe they come to earth and put anal probes in rednecks? Nope.

I believe in aliens. There is an illegal one that was living down the road from me.

I simply can't believe ANY of these stories until I see HIGH QUALITY video footage or perhaps an eye witness account from half of congress.

Have any of you read The War of the Worlds? Aliens don't come to earth because of germs.

Easily, because that is not very convincing stuff to credit to aliens being present on this planet. I do think there is a likelihood of e.t. life but until they address a meeting at the UN, I find it difficult to believe they've been visiting us; and that's even making the leap that there will be another sentient species. I think there is undoubtedly life out there but whether or not any of this will be in the form of a higher intelligence is another matter.

Easily, cause if intelligent life came to visit this planet, they'd know enough to stay out of new jersey.

Wouldn't even ultra-lights need to file a flight plan or get some kind of authorization
to fly at low altitudes over a large city?

"Police officers on patrol at 12:40 a.m. yesterday couldn't believe their eyes.

Within the hour, Carteret police dispatchers said they heard from at least 15 callers reporting strange orange flares blazing high above the Arthur Kill. The eerie glow had people at backyard barbecues mesmerized, with heads upturned and mouths agape."

What puzzles me even more is the fact that people are barbequing at 1am in the middle of the night

I think you may have disappointed our resident rednecks.

They could be alien ships, could be illegal aliens using gliders to run the border, could be stuff our government is working on, could be stuff the Secret New Soviet Alliance is working on, could all be hallucinations. Without proof or personal experience with anal probes we may never know.

I believe in aliens. Not because of UFO-sightings though (altrouhg some of them may be real). Some wise man once said "saying that Earth is the only planet in the universe with intelligent life would be the same as walking to a vast beach, picking up single grain of sand and say "only this grain of sand has intelligent life"".
