But how? Is your religion important to you at all... other than a family culture and social club? The church has said plainly that you CANNOT be a Catholic in good standing and be pro-abortion. we contribute money regularly to the local pro-life
pregnancy center. we've counseled women
considering abortion.

we believe that the only meaningful way to decrease

we've thought about this & don't believe voting for Kerry is morally unacceptable.
we believe Bush has done such grave harm to the country
and poses such a threat that he has to be tossed out of office.

Firstly, I think you invocation would be valid!

I'll concede that Hitler was more hands on than Kerry, so I'll resign that tact specifically, but you can easily see the parallel I was pointing to. Just because WE don't actively participate in something doesn't mean that we are free of guilt for doing things that support that thing. To use a different Nazi era (new invocation! ) scenario... the US Government told the German people that they had an OBLIGATION to do something about the concentration camps... they were neither directly ordering deaths and nor were they directly supporting Hitler, but they none the less had an obligation to do something anyway. I would say the same goes for this. Even if a person isn't personally having or ordering an abortion, if they feel abortion is wrong then they have an obligation to do what they can to stop it... and voting for a candidate who supports it certainly doesn't sound like a good way to make it go away.

Comparing genocide of real live full humans that have experienced full lives to unborn fetus without the ability to even feed themselves/interact with anything/think for themselves... is pretty pathetic..

What you fail to understand is that a live Human over the age of 0 is undebatably alive... Personally, I believe that a fetus is a completely unformed person.. much like an egg is to a chicken... so in MY opinion, I could not care less if the unwanted child in PROCESS is aborted... I do not force my views on others, however. You DO! You decide for EVERYONE that an unborn fetus is the equivalent of a human life. And therefore, YOUR opinion is more important than others and defines truth. Since the debate is open to interpretation(by the mere fact that I, along with many others, disagree)... you cannot make such a ridiculous comparison.

There are two additional problems with anti-abortionists... conservatives as a whole do NOT want to pay for the clothes/food/education/upbringing of this unborn child that they so wish to be brought into this world... so, they want them to live, but won't take care of it! The parent has the choice to abort the baby or not based on financial ability. The conservative wants to override this and then NOT pay for it!

The second problem is that people give NO regard to the LIVES of the millions of animals slaughtered, the rainforests trampled, and genocide of FULL HUMANS happening RIGHT NOW in the world... therefore, to argue so adamantly for an unborn non functioning human's life is beyond ridiculous!

You fail to grasp the fact that many believe that HUMAN life is more than the physical body alone. To one that believes that HUMAN life begins at the moment of conception, -3 months or +50 years is still a "person".

You decide for EVERYONE that an unborn fetus is the equivalent of a human life. And therefore, YOUR opinion is more important than others and defines truth. And you want to decide for everyone that an unborn child is NOT equivalent to other human life. You say that my comparision is rediculous because it doesn't fit YOUR interpretation of reality. I hope you are open minded enough to understand that you are the mirrored opposite.

As for not paying for illegitimate children... many (especially religious people) do try to help. A few years ago we (my wife and I) of a Teen girl who was pregnant and whose parents wanted her to abort. We offered to let her live with us and we'd take care of them... the parents were so moved by our and similar offers that they stepped back and let her stay and have the baby. Mother and 8 year old girl are now BOTH happy and healthy.

But again... about paying in general. What I want is for people to be responsible for their own actions. That means that if they are going to have sex, then they better make sure they DON'T get pregnant. It means if they DO get pregnant, that they take the responsibility that goes with it. Don't off load the responsibility onto the child by killing it or onto society by making them pay your bills. That's how I feel about most cases where abortion is used. In the case or rape or incest, it wasn't the woman's fault and the responsibility was thrust onto her... but adding a murder into the world doesn't make a rape go away.
