Bull crap. Mine were 300 and it was the best money ever spent. Improves visibility, no squinting, eye protection. Do yourself a favor and get some really nice sunglasses, you'll never go back to cheap ones.

So, you paid $250 for the name, and $50 for decent sunglasses. Unless you can somehow convince me that those lenses in the sunglasses are superior to the UV protected, polarized prescription lenses in my sunglasses that cost me just over $100. (I'm sure I could have upgraded to the Oakley frames for an extra couple hundred dollars.)

Of course. That site was created/registered on GoDaddy.com today to some guy named "distant love" in China
What could possibly go wrong when a site has so many red flags.

Bear in mind that you are actually responding to "distant love" who created that account to spam the link to his shady website by necroing this thread

True, I didn't want to quote the site.
I thought the old thread is almost more relevant now. Fake Oakleys seem to be the #1 scam I see on Facebook.

I've lost 3 pair of sunglasses in the lake already this year. I'm a $14.00 walmart pair kind of guy so I don't care if they get scratched (all sunglasses do), or bent or cracked, or whatever. Sunglasses are disposable. I keep a pair in the truck, a pair on the boat, a pair in one of the cars, and sometimes a spare pair at home for when I'm weed eating or whatever.

i also have had a few expensive sun glasses... from versace to gucci, and well, i dont wear those anymore because they are about the same as 50-100 dollar sunglasses with good lenses.

Also i wont cry as hard when i break or lose a 50 dollar sunglasses compared to a 500 dollar one.

So like pizza states, unless u can show me one where its actually worth it, and not a marketing markup, or a brand name markup, maybe one that uses swarovski crystal as lenses, i will never buy another pair of expensive brand name sun glasses.

Good sunglasses are a great buy. I love my Oakley's so much I bought a second pair, leave one in my work car and one for off days. (granted I get them at roughly half price directly from Oakley so it takes some of the sting out.)

So true, never been into "fashion" priced gear but I boiught a pair of Armani glasses a few years ago and they were the best pair I have ever owned by a country mile. Lost them about 3 years later and I was gutted.

I have a $100 pair of Serengeti Aviators with their Brown Driver's Gradient lenses and a $100 pair of Ray Bans (both Amazon prices) and compared to a cheap-o pair of sunglasses the difference is night and day, especially with the Serengetis which are known for their sterling optics. Everything is so clear, sharp and contrasty. The Ray Bans are not in the same league but still nice - bought those more for looks. Not sure what happens when you go from $100 Serengeti's to $300 Maui Jims but at some point there are diminishing returns. But avoiding cheap $20 crap is priceless and good for your eyes.

I bought Fake Oakleys on ebay for less than $10 they were fine. Lost then, no problem, bought a new pair, about the same except they didn't say Oakley anymore. Still using them 2 years later. Both came in a hard shell case with 4 different color lenses

Yeah, Jesus pretty much states over and over and over again in the Bible we should part with our positions and help the poor.

Now when you hear that you more than likely say to yourself, FUCK THAT! But when you think of it perhaps it makes since. Do we really need an $80+ pair of stupid ass sunglasses? $100+ shoes? Etc, etc, etc.

It's important (well, not really) to have things. But there is such a thing as materialism and vanity. Actually, that concept runs along the lines as to why some religions have woman cover themselves up or wear some of the plainest ass clothes you ever seen.

Anyway... don't over indulge is the jest of this post. Live a simple life and help those who are less fortunate. I do all the time even though they may just take my money and buy beer or pot. For I know just giving just one legit person a helping hand I will have accomplished my mission.

Optically they are near perfect and they are polarized which cuts down immensely on glare in bright sunlight which makes them great for driving or if you're out on the water.

Living in SoCal good sunglasses are a necessity.

Sadly, they stopped producing these metallic gems, so I have honestly not touched any other Oakley's. I don't care for paying $100+ plastic.

that said, I had a family member that was employed Oakley. His discount? 70% off any and every kind. Yeah, they are that overpriced. It's ridiculous that people find that to be acceptable.
