it used to be fantasy. now I think those authors were sending us warnings.
I decided over 30 years ago, after quite a bit of experience here and there, doing umpteen jobs of all kinds and seeing a ton of situations, that "incompetence is everywhere." I found that all the situations I found myself in, there were incompetent people around me. I explained this to my boss one day. It was a crap job with no future, I was a temp, but I would have liked to be permanently hired there just so I could have a dependable income, paltry as it was. My boss's reaction was "that should make you feel good because you are more competent than them." Not the reaction I wanted and I said no more.....someone that can't figure out how to use a K-cup brewer, can't figure out a VCR, DVD player, PC, Windows Updates, etc., FUNCTION IN SOCIETY?
