If it's money that if you never see it again will not cause problems for you then I'd say lend it.

I mean I could afford to give her 1k and still spend the month no problem, but in case I am not getting it back I rather spend the money on a Wii and some upgrades for my ordinateur.

Suddenly your grammar all makes sense. You are French I assume? Or at least French Canadian?

I now know her for 2 months now...

Her family isn't here now. I think she had car problems, but I still would think she has other closer friends to get money from !
Known you for 2 months and asks to borrow money for some unnamed reason? She has no CC? Her family can mail, wire or deposit the money. Didn't you bother to ask her why she's asking you instead of her family or her own closer friends?

part of me is thinking, smart man don't be a fool

If you loan a friend $50 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I don't "lend" money to friends, since that's asking for trouble. I'll give a small amount of money to them if they're really good friends, though, and consider it a gift if I get it back.

I loaned money to someone on this board. They payed it back.

I loaned the money with the mindset that I would never see it again. When I got it back it was like I got a gift.

I "loaned" a hot girl money once. She was my "friend" for the night, and showed her appreciation many times over.

There's no chance I would lend anyone that sum of money accept for my parents, my sister, or my in-laws. When my son comes of age, I'd have no problem lending him the money with no strings attached although I would hope he's responsible enough to support himself pretty early on.

I think you made the correct decision, Casawi. In fact i would find it irritating that someone I knew so poorly would dare ask me for that much money.

Wrapped around my penis and gyrating; number of days required depends on the amount "borrowed".

Consider replacing the word "loan" with "give".
Friends can be worse becuase they feel like they can afford to snub you when they cant repay.

BTW, suggest to her PAYDAY LOANS

Wow, $1000? I'd have to be really close friends to loan out that much money. Like as in, nearly family. And even family, my first questions would be, "What for?" and "For how long?"

I don't think I'd lend anyone that much money. Tell tem to take out a loan. Unless, of course, you have it laying around and have known the person for many years. Otherwise I'd maybe loan someone $5-$10 if I at least liked them but other than that, no way.

WHy would she not ask people that she's actualyl good friends with? Or maybe she knows all of them will say no. ANyway, be sure to write up a contract if you are even considering this.

Close enough to know if the friend will pay me back or not. I've loaned several hundred to a friend before and I got all of it back as soon as he could pay it. I knew he was having hard times and offered though, he didn't ask me. This guy had too much pride to mooch. Other friends I've had would perpetually beg to "borrow" a few dollars here and there swearing they'd return it when they got a paycheck, and the paycheck would always be blown on something without paying you back.

under $100 is like whatever... I'd loan that to anyone who wasn't a stranger / complete acquaintance.

$1000? I don't think I'd loan that much to any of my friends unless they needed the money in a really bad way. I'd loan it to a family member, though.
