How come everyone hates McDonalds?

It's funny because a lot of people dis on McDonalds and then go over to Chipotle thinking that it's a healthy alternative. Which is really funny becuase a typical burrito from there is 1000+ calories. And good luck trying to easily find the nutritional info on Chipotle's site (without searching for it).

(and yes I know that Chipotle is owned by McD's)

Or Panera, where a Sierra Turkey Sandwich has nearly twice the calories and saturated fat than a Big Mac. Or nearly ANY sit down resturant where the burgers are nearly twice the calories and fat as well.

I stopped in at Famous Dave's last week and had this beast:

Ultimate BBQ Burger, ½ lb.
Topped with Georgia chopped pork, two strips of jalapeño bacon, cheddar cheese, and our signature Beam & Cola sauce.

I think I doubled my cholesterol in one sitting. It was actually labourous trying to eat this thing. I can't even fathom how absolutely horrible that was for me.

We're all going to die. Might as well enjoy what we eat and eat whatever we want.

Fast food hires people who are no more questionable than any other restaurant, fast, or sit-down. Have you ever look in the kitchen at your local chain restaurant?

Lucky how? I'm nearly 40 and have never gotten sick from fast food. No one I know has, either.

How is luck involved? People are more likely to get food poisoning from home, or another private residence than at a restaurant.

I used to love McDs, until I worked there as a teenager. I was there for 1 1/2 years and now the very thought of eating that rubbish makes me feel ill. I haven't touched a McDs meal for over 4 years now.

Having said that I still enjoy Burger King from time to time. People eat much less fast food here than in USA. I've eaten BK maybe 3 times in the last 6 months.

It's no worse then any other fastfood chain and anybody who says otherwise based on anecdotal evidence of a single local store is a moran.

Myself, I quite like McDs, Dbl 1/4lber w/cheese for me, or a couple $1 menu dbl cheeseburgers. It's also a good diversion for when I get tired of Taco Bell, Burger King or Whataburger (Which I never get tired of). Lately, though, I've been all about the .99 chedderwurst hotdogs from Stripes.

I wouldn't say McDonald's food is "disgusting", but personally I don't find it very tasty. It tastes like, well, any other fast food. As for the fries, they seem like hollow tubes of salt with a little bit of reconstituted potato in them, which isn't my idea of the ideal french fry.

I find nothing wrong with Mcd's, I like a double big mac/quarter pounder once in a while. It also makes a great laxative for some reason though.

For me, nothing beats a Wendy's Triple. 3/4 lb of Artery Hardening Goodness!

2xDbl Cheese burgers minus pickles add mac sauce ain't bad for 2 bucks, and the place I go to will even add letus for no charge so its essentially a bigmac minus the middle bread for a buck

but mcds gets old fast. and there burgers are kinda meh over all and there dollar menu atleast in my area kinda blows.

Love Wendys though for its dollar menu

I don't like them because of what they support. They support gun control, and I'm against that, so I won't let them use my money to support something I don't agree with. Besides, BK burgers are better anyway (hardees thickburgers are the best though)

I don't eat there very much anymore. Not that there's anything particularly bad about McDonald's, it's just that pretty much every other place is better. McDonald's has beef processed until it has no texture at all, buns with high fructose corn syrup in them, and that nasty stuff that can barely be called cheese anymore. Well, at least it's uniformly bad.

You answered your own question - young children are extremely impressionable, much more so than adults. Market your brand to them successfully and you're set for a long time...

If you look around just a bit, you'll usually find plenty of places that sell much better stuff at marginally higher prices.

i think mcd food is great. i love everything on that menu... big macs, mcchickens, double quarter pounders, big n tastys, fries.

however, it's a real bummer to get one of them and have it sloppily made. sometimes i get a big mac and literally have to reconstruct the sandwich myself. or i'll get a double cheeseburger with three times as much ketchup as it should have. thats probably my only gripe about mcd (or any fast food in general)
