Wouldn't it be better for an infant to die and be saved rather than live and risk the likelihood that they will not accept Christ?"

Fun with Xians!

Biblically speaking, anyone under the age of 20 is not considered to be an adult, and is, therefore, still an innocent.
My Lord, you haven't even read the commandments.
but there is no right or wrong
uh uh. There is a right and wrong. There is fact, and there is fiction. Just because you can't pin point it doesn't mean that there isn't one.

Wow, way to prove me wrong there, Skoorb! Boy, you sure got me on that one!

Aw naw, I don't believe in heaven and hell. I am a firm Hindu... I just wanted ask the question to see what his response would be. I was merely curious as to what he would say.

Kinda stupid of Christianity to believe/say this if you ask me. They say jesus loves everyone...well ok...everyone definitely includes 5 billion people out there who are NOT Christian so 80% of the world's populations is gonna go to hell thru this "allmerciful lord".

If you truly want answers read the Bible to find out on your own. Don't go around asking the ATOT religious zealots who half the time don't know what they're talking about.

Not pointing out anyone individually, just everyone

I agree. I am a Christian. It is my firm belief that anyone who has not heard the good news of Salvation in life will be offered a second chance in death. I believe there is Biblical evidence for this, but that's just my interpretation of G-d's word.

There's an age of the counting, where before that age you are not held responsible for your actions. It's not said exactly at what age it is, but it is there.

Also, murder is murder. Life on Earth is an experience that has been deemed good and desirable by God, and thus we protect it, as far as we can.

If you're going to mock something, please know what you're talking about, first.

Well of course it is murder, but logically it is the greatest gift you could give to someone - you guarantee them eternal life.

If we have an immortal existence, than surely there is nothing more precious than securing it with Christ - killing someone in order to do so must, therefore, be the very height of moral action. What could be a greater sacrifice than saving someones immortal soul, at the price of your own?

Serial child murderers, under this particular Xian belief system, should be praised and honored for their good deeds.

Really, if you beleive that your son will go straight to heaven for all eternity if he dies before he turns 20 (or whatever age the age of counting might be), then the best thing that could happen to him would be exactly that.

Like I said, you haven't read the commandments.

You're just making blanket statements without any evidence to back them up. Is that the best you've got?

You can follow the teachings of Jesus without ever hearing his name. Be humble unto others and what you find hateful do not do unto another. I don't understand how Christians can get so confused with believing in Jesus and in believing what Jesus taught. Personally I believe you can be a pretty good Christian by believing the latter. It's always harder to practice what you preach. I personally don't by the whole, "Christians aren't perfect, they are just forgiven" crap.

Absolutely, your Xian friend just commited what must be the worst possible crime, he has likely damned your Hindu friend to an eternity of hell.

In fact, while serial child murderers must be praised for their desire to see as many as possible enjoy salvation, missionaries are quite likely some of the most evil people the world has ever seen - by their actions they damn millions to an eternity of hell. Stalin has nothing on them, all he did was kill 30 million mortal bodies, how much worse to kill someones immortal soul?

Exactly. When Jesus said the way to Heaven is through him, he meant through his teachings. Not through believing in him literally.

I'm in a World Religions class, and today, we had a Minister come in as a guest speaker. When he said this, I asked him,

"Well sir, I'm Hindu, and so is my entire family. Back in India, my grandparents live in a remote agricultural village where Christianity or any other relgion except Hinduism and maybe Islam, don't exist. My grandparents are the nicest people I have ever met. They both used to be elementary teachers, they've contributed much of their time and money to their community, and overall, they're very good people. So which leads to my question... are they going to hell because they don't even know Christianity is a religon?

His response: "I'm very sorry to say, but, yes, they will be going to hell"

My reaction: :disgust: +
+ :Q + (A mix of those)

this is the reason we have to spread the Gospel ASAP!

It might be demented, but it is logically sound.

Normally when a set pf premises logically lead to a ridiculous conclusion, one should consider re-examining the truth of the premise.

Hmm interesting. Why then is there a need to convert to Christianity? Your logic seems to imply that someone like Gandhi was a good "Christian" in that he was someone whose heart was pure.

That's my main issue with Christianity. The need to convert. Hinduism, on the other hand, is a way of life, and there isn't a conversion process. To me, needing to do a ceremony to become accepted as a Christian, is why religion gets that stigma of being like a cult.

The Mosaic Laws died with Christ at the cross.

Show me the verse in the Bible that says "The Mosaic Laws died with Christ on the cross."
You can't. There is no such verse. In fact, Christ himself said otherwise. He said in Matthew 5:17-18 "17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am come not to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
If the Law was done away with, why then did Christ say "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law"?
Christ followed the Mosaic Law in his life, and commanded others to live as he did. Why should we ignore the Mosaic Law then?

its not a physical or ceremonial "conversion" that saves people.. the conversion is in the heart and spirit, when one converts to realization of the truth.. you cant live that "way of life" unless you've first been converted to believing in that way of life...

Yep, but that is why a lot of christians do NOT believe that you have to be a christian to be saved.

There isn't a need to convert but there is a need to spread the idea that being good to each other is the way to go. I always think of God the Father...now if I was a dad what would my greatest wish for my children be? Well, mainly that they play nice with each other and help each other to grow to be responsible parents of their own. Whether your Jew, Muslim, Hindi, Buddhist, Hari Christina as long as you put other peoples need above your own you are doing Jesus' work.
