How come, with all these Matrix threads...

Why do you feel compelled to bash the Matrix? If it was bad, get on with it. No one forced you to see it, stop whining.

It's ironic how much bad publicity the movie got. Many critics liked it better than Reloaded, but rated it lower. And all the polls show that more people like it than not, yet the people that didn't like it somehow feel compelled to convince everyone of how bad it is. It seems fashionable to bash the matrix. Moreover, everyone's complaints are not at all constructive. I enjoyed the final movie, and yes, there are things that I would have liked to be developed upon... but that goes for just about every movie. And as far as the ending, I thought it was very well done. I felt that the story had ended and at the same time you can still wonder about the future... like the first movie. It seems that everyone complains about hollywood endings, and then when a hollywood ending doesn't occur, everyone is an uproar.

All in all, it seems that all of the "haters" exagerate the negatives and overlook the positives.

Since this is a complaint thread, I will mention things I had problems with the movie. Personally, I would've liked the Merovingian to be more involved. I would have liked the Zion battle scene to look more grand.. started out good but then it seemed very small with the 3 APU's at any given shot. I would have liked to see Seraph fight. I would have liked for Club hell to be longer and a better version of hte lobby scene in the first film. I would've liked the battle scenes to be more involved; compared to reloaded the battle scenes weren't where I'd like them to be; the camera was far away from the action, the scenes themselves were short and sporatic. I also enjoy the original Oracle more than the new one. As far as technical things, I think that they couldv'e made the action better w/out spending that much money... reloaded as an example. But as far as the storyline is concerned, it was handled well- including the ending.

I'm sick of the Matrix, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Thankfully they'll be winding up within the next year.

Here are the reasons why I hate the Matrix so much: They try so hard to be cool with having absolutely no originality. They got the black trench coats, stylish looks, finesse martial art moves and lots of guns and slow motion effects. This is everything but entertaining to me. I've seen enough movies with guys getting the sh!t knocked out of them by these perfect martial arts masters and it doesn't do a damn thing to entertain me. It's so dull and unoriginal. Blade II was the same way but he at least had a unique car (68' Charger). They had the cool names, black clothing, vicious and "unnerving" monsters that met their demises from, once again, the perfect fighting of a perfect entity.

I'm just sick of all of these parodies of parodies of films with all these stupid-ass quick-ass ninja fvcks who can pull off all these tricky moves and take out fifteen different guys at once. You know what I like? Terminator. Arnold was a bad-ass brute who could punch through walls and tough sh!t like that. Non of this quick sh!t. It also had a relatively simple story that most everyone could follow. The Matrix has turned into this big-ass philosophical trilogy that brings all these wannabe philosophers into book stores curious about existence. Haven't people realized simple movies are what make great movies? Just to name off a few would be Rebel Without A Cause, It's a Wonderful Life and Bridge on the River Kwai. These movies were easy to understand and enjoyable to watch. Anyone could sit down and understand them. With The Matrix it's this huge enigma that I constantly hear people playing critic and pondering the depths their imagination takes them.

I don't know, I'm just glad the last movie is out and that's it. I'll be quite honest too, I also hate it just for how much fvcking hype there is about it.

I loved all 3 movies. I thought the 3rd movie ended perfectly. Nothing has changed since the first movie, except peoples expectations. Everyone raves about the first one. Yes, it was a great movie but the ending was pretty damn lame. I mean he destroys smith and then you see him at a telephone booth and hes in the air flying and the movie ends. Now, tell me how that is a great ending. Most people had such high expectations and that ruined it for them.

I loved the 3rd movie just as much I love the 2nd and 1st. I hope the Wachowski brothers can make some more awesome films(not anymore matrix movies).

Everything else that you said was acceptable and right except this. It's rather hard to have the original Oracle in the third movie as the actress who played her died before all the filming was finished on the second.

How can you be sick of LotR? Sure, the hype is way over done for those movies, but that was mostly confined to the first one. Heck, they didn't even have the prop exhibit in Toronto like they did for Two Towers this year. Really, Return of the King has been played very low key in comparison. Star Wars, though, I agree with. The Lucas Machine tends to hype those unto death... and then bury the corpse when it hits theaters. The other key difference is that LotR has not had any sucky movies as part of it, unlike Star Wars and Matrix.

Personally, if you want to see a third movie in a series that is nothing but utter and vile compared to the ones that came before it, watch Terminator 3. THAT movie was over-hyped, poorly written, and a debasement of two truly wonderful movies that came before it. Frankly, I wish it had caught half the flack that Matrix 3 is getting now when it came out. :disgust:
