Now I see everyone saying "yeah, I have no issues taking a 25,000 mile trip on my 550k mile vehicle", but of you guys, would you send your wife off in that vehicle. The wife you do like.

I have a 207,xxxmi 1991 Nissan Sentra after replacing the front suspension and cooling related items, I'm totally confident in driving the car.

Used to have a 95 Honda Accord 5-speed with 410k miles. Yes you read that right! Wish I would of snapped a picture of the odometer. Only reason I don't have it today is because it got stolen lol. I have a 98 Honda Accord as a beater with ~ 215k miles. Still runs perfect, extremely reliable.

Considering all the cars I've owned have had 150k+ miles, including my winter cars, I am fairly confident driving them as daily drivers. However, I wouldn't take any of them on 100+ mile road trips. Both of my daily driver summer cars had 200k+ on them, high mileage cars are just more mature...

Oddly enough, all my cars were 90s GM cars, except one that was an '86.

My 1988 Honda Accord had 252,000 miles on it when I drove it from West Virginia to Texas and back.

My 1998 Altima has 173,000 and it still runs like a top. Definitely wouldn't have a problem driving it 3200 miles.

Sent the wife off on a long drive, GA to Cape Cod, in our Blazer with 245K miles on it. Truck never missed a beat there or back.

Of course, we've owned it since it was new and I know every bit of maintenance that's been done for it and how it's run over its life. Truck has been very, very reliable and I wouldn't hesitate for her to take it today and drive anywhere.

Generally speaking I would be comfortable with most cars which have over 100k on the odometer.

IMO if two of the three main components of a car (body, engine, transmission) are good, the car is probably worth fixing and keeping. Exceptions apply of course (warped frame, heavy rust, prohibitively expensive cost of repair, etc.)

I have 130k on my '97 Maxima. I wouldn't trust it for long trips at this point, but I also don't feel a need to get rid of it b/c so far it hasn't left me stranded anywhere. I don't want a car payment for something I only use 2-3 times a week. Also I park on the street, which is a big no-no if you have a new car in this part of the city.

With my car it's not just the mileage, it's also the age. I worry that a lot of the seals are probably dry-rotted or close at this point. So no long trips.

133k on a Grand Prix. I feel like it's going to blow apart any day, and if I ever get T-boned, I'm dead.

100,000 miles.. lol. Just getting broken in. See sig.

No worries at all and I bet they all last 1,000,000 miles, barring catastrophe.

You have more miles on that single car than my family's four cars combined.

In all fairness, all of the miles were put on it by the previous owner. We bought it at 441k. We drove 800 miles out to buy it, and bought it without hesitation - drove it 800 miles home.

We just took it on an 800 mile road trip, again without hesitation, and actually beat my previous MPG record that had been set in the 158k mile car. lol...

It's gone through a few clutches, few sets of brakes, shocks, axles and lots of tires(have most receipts). I decided to put a new(used) transmission in it, since it was a little grindy when downshifting into 2nd gear, and my fiancee was going to be driving it. We also put an O2 sensor and EGR valve in it.

They're amazing automobiles. All hand built in Japan..

165k on a 95 Camry. Tricky to clutch/shift with precision due to broken (leaked down) original motor mounts, rides like a water bed from 4 bad struts, and needs a .5-1 qt of oil a month due to rock hard valve seals, has a wobble at 80 mph from an original factory brake rotor that has been turned like 3 times but is out of balance, and sometimes you have to really wiggle the key in the door and ignition switch because they are so worn down.

But still as reliable and trustworthy as a fork and I know I could drive it anywhere.

Plan on addressing those issues some day, but the thing is if I just drive it for what it's meant to be driven for and don't try and drive it like a race car, they aren't really a problem. Thus I've been a cheap ass and haven't fixed them yet. I did at least recently do a complete seal/oring/gasket refresh because I got tired of wet spots in my garage and driveway.

Nearly 290,000km on my Toyota Corolla (180,000 miles). It has never broken down or required anything more than minor maintenance work in that time. We don't use it for long road trips anymore because it has no air conditioning and the other, finer comforts that our newer car has, but it's still fine for day to day use.

If I lived in a warm climate country, I'd drive my car right into the ground until smoke was pouring out of it and the odometer said 500K.
But where I live, if your car breaks down in the winter, you die. And as well as they might run, I just can't trust a vehicle with 100K+ no matter how well maintained it is. Something WILL break. Cars don't owe us anything, including continuing to run.

100k miles isn't even getting broken in. Both my vehicles, even my daily driver, have over 200k miles. I'd take my 97 Cavalier (220k mi) or 87 Caprice (x72k miles, x>1) on a road trip at the drop of a hat. Proper maintenance FTW!

my 06 MazdaSpeed6 has 85k on it and drives as good as the day I bought it. Only thing I have had to replace aside from some TSB's, are tires, pads and rotors, and the wheel front wheel bearings recently went. I am very meticulous when it comes to my cars, and it has been very well maintained. Regular oil changes and maintenance. Just recently replaced all the fluids in the car with synthetic. I'd like to get another 3 years out of it at which point it'll have 140k on it given my current driving habits. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere or any distance. Has some basic mods including CAI, Test Pipe, and a tune. It does chew through tires on a regular basis (approx every 20k with 5k rotations). As a father with two kids, I love this car. I can still get two car seats in it and it's plenty of fun to drive and still makes me smile. The body is in great shape (thanks delta sonic for unlimited car washes) given the harsh northeastern winters. It has it's share of chips in the hood which I will have to address soon.

When my parents' 99 Sonata hit 100k, it was already falling apart (including water leaking on passenger side and rust on underbody), so we were not confident about it at all.

On the other hand, my parents' 05 Camry has 120k+ miles with no issue at all, so we are quite confident about it.

Three of my family's cars have done NH/East Coast<--->Coloardo at least once with the clock over 150k without reservation. My Dad's S80 has done the loop 3 times, and my old Crown Vic has done it 2 1/2 times. 100k is no biggie these days IMHO.
