How did Adam Sandler ever make it big?

Oh come on, his old stuff like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were funny the first 20 times I saw them. Sure they get played out on TBS and similar stations but thats not his fault.

Yeah I really dig is old movies like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Waterboy, and i absolutely love Little Nicky. I think he is a funny guy and I like how he always has his friends in his movies. How could you deny the fact that those movies are funny?

I think he is hilarious although he needs to adapt or he will end up drying out like say - Chevy Chase. I thought he was hilarious and I havent seen a good movie of his in the last 10 years +.

I love Adam Sandler. But go find his early movie called Going Overboard. After watching that, I still don't understand how this guy ever got another chance to make a movie. That is seriously the worst movie I've ever seen.

He's trying to branch out, Punchdrunk Love was far from a typical Adam Sandler movie.

It's a start. As long as he can keep making millions doing what he's doing, he doesn't really need to adjust. At least he's shown he can do it though.

He's clearly an acquired taste. I liked him on SNL (and, even earlier, on MTV's Remote Control), but I find his movies just painfully awful. They have never made me crack a smile, much less laugh. He seems like a nice guy in real life, but his movies are some of the worst in the modern era IMO.

The wedding singer was a very good movie. I'm not really fond of the rest. Some clips are somewhat funny though, like the Bob Barker fight in Happy Gilmore.

Only because of Jack Nicholson IMO, he made the Buddy character hilarious. Sandler was not funny in that movie.

Happy Gilmore was fun as well. The rest of his stuff I can take or leave.


It's Ben Stiller that I don't get. Other than Something about Mary, nothing he's done impresses me.
