How did you first hear about AnandTech???

I was researching about building a new computer. I want to say it was 1995, but I'm not sure AnandTech has been around that long. I'd love to see archives on the OLD forum, to see when I joined. Does anyone remember the old forum?

I used Sharkyextreme (and their forums: Sharkyforums) which a coworker recommended. I used that for a few months and was very happy. Then they eliminated the off-topic forum. I didn't care, since back then I just was interested in hardware. Well that killed the hardware forum since all the other members left. One of the most intelligent posters ever (Arcadian) said he was going to Anandtech - so I switched with him. I honestly perfer Sharky's setup, but without anyone answering the posts, it was useless to me.

Yeah, they did a few average age threads and I think the average age was 14 @ ardOCP. I think the average age here is more like 20-25. The people here are much more mature and their posts (usually) show it.

Was following the game WWIIOnline, though it would be the sh!t, then when it came out was a giant piece of bug infested crap. Wasn't happy with my 4 fps, though hey, my TNT might be holding me back, what video card should I upgrade to? Someone there mentioned this place, and so I turned to these forums looking for help. Ended up with a Radeon LE, the game still sucked, and now I'm hooked here.
