how dirty can a car be?

Bored so decided to ask this question

Is there any laws in California that says how dirty your car can get before your will get a ticket?

I imagine it's fine if you can see out the front 3 windows (and maybe the rear window, not sure on CA's laws), you can see the plate, and it's not dropping too much mud on the road (as to hinder traffic/safety in any way).

That is what I thought. I know in some country in Europe they have the law that says how dirty a car can be. So decided to see if we have anything like that in California.

You could grow a lawn on your car if you wanted, I guess as long as stuff didn't fly off and you could see through the windows at least

Here in florida, kids are always goin mudding in their trucks, and I've seen many people get tickets for haveing their license plate's visibility obstructed, and tickets for reckless driving because they couldn't see out of their side windows. All were covered in mud.

Basically, if stuff is falling off your car, or the lights aren't clearly visible, you have a problem.

IMHO, the headlights are obstructed -- clean them, the windows, and the license plates, and maybe. It will probably shed too much mud, though..heh
