How do I automatically login to windows?

I want to be able to automatically login to windows, but I dont want to do it by using the welcome screen. I also ran 'control userpasswords2' and unclicked the option that requires users to put in a user name and password. That worked great but it defaults to the admin profile. So how I guess a better question would be: how do I change the default account to my account. I hope that made sense and thanks for any help.

TweakUI can log you in automatically given an account username and password.

Well, I looked in the Control Panel at the UserAccounts tool, but it doesnt have many options. I can certainly understand why it want to only automatically logon the Admin.

I though these settings could be adjusted in much greater detail in the Group Policy tool, but I cant seem to find exactly what I want.
I can find the settings that tell you to use classic or welcome screen, but I cant find a setting that says to auto-login to a particular account.

Any guesses people?

(I used the run... command gpedit.msc.)


EDIT: Took way too long with my post. I acknowledge TweakUI's usefulness, but I could have sworn there is a way to do it with one of the Administrative Tools.

If you use "control userpasswords2" in the run command, the proper way to select an account to automatically log in to, select the account BEFORE unchecking the checkbox, then uncheck the checkbox. That specific account will then be highlighted, click ok and confirm the password. I know this works because I have it setup like this for my home pc, works like a charm and WITHOUT tweakui (I hate using 3rd party apps)

TweakUI hasn't worked for me, either on my computer or my wife's. I finally was able to get my wife's to autologin by logging on as Administrator and changing the Registry (per Microsoft's website - Google "WinXP Autologon"). It's a lot more difficult to set up than it needs to be.

And, 2.0 works just fine. (XP Pro, SP2, with all updates to date.) Here is what you look for:

Couldn't you just get rid of the ASP dev account and all the others that you don't want it to log in to?

wasnt there a way to autologon, and then automatically switch to the password screen once everything is loaded?
