how do I get AJAX out of the inside of a water bottle?

I bought a nice water bottle from sports authority so I can bring water to work (the water at work tastes bad). I poured some AJAX inside the water bottle to clean it out but it seems that it caked on. I got most of it off by scraping the bottom with the handle of a wooden mixing spoon, but i'm sure that there is a fair amount still stuck onto the bottom. I have tried hot water and salt.

I already tried keeping it filled with water and pouring it out every day for the last week now.


***UPDATE**

Everyone is saying Vinegar, it might work but the bottle is going to stink of vinegar. I'm just going to buy a new bottle.

steps:

pour in hot water..not boiling...just hot... fill to brim...

let sit for an hour...go to your nearest dollar store and buy a toothbrush...
(alternatively you could get a bottle brush)

scrub with brush after it has soaked..

rinse out a thousand time (ajax is not good for you)..

ps. next time use dish soap instead of ajax..ajax is not meant for cleaning most plastics...and can leave a residue which will make your drink taste bad

Try a bottle brush...

Get a steam cleaner and stick the nozzle into the bottle and blast away.

I'm guessing vinegar will dissolve it, but I wouldn't drink from it anyway.

I'd also guess vinegar should do the trick. Acids are good for cleaning off bases and vice versa.

This may sound odd, but did you try ice?

Put the ice in the bottle, then swirl it around repeatedly. medium-sized pieces probably would work best. It will be a solid substance to knock the ajax off, but ice won't scratch and/or damage the bottle.

Try it and see if it helps.

buy a Nalgene bottle....no taste
