So I have a part time (lol, year right) job. I get about 40-42 hours a week, but I'm at about my wit's end.
When I started, I'd get maybe 4 days during the week, and 6-7 hours a night, and then Saturday and Sunday during the afternoon. I was perfectly fine with this, and I was told by my manager that this would be consistent.
Until a few weeks ago. I now get two days a week, at 3 hours a shot (what the fuck shift is that?) and then about 32 hours over the course of three days. That would me my entire Friday night is toast, Saturday is gone, and Sunday is spent there as well. I expected to lose some time to the job, but not like this.
I've tried on many occasions to ask the manager to give me a break on either one Friday or Saturday night a week, and for whatever reason she won't do it. I HATE calling off, because I know what it's like to keep up with a short shift (you can't). I've even tried requesting off a single night three weeks before the schedule is touched (I'm the only one who actually bothers to do this), yet I still get scheduled for these shifts.
Is quitting the only option I have here? I can find another job in a heartbeat, but I like the people here and have a blast, and the hours I do get are very nice, not many places here will give me 40 a week.)
And what the fuck, you guys don't need to read that all. Just felt like typing before bed.
Cliffs:
Started, got nice hours.
Now getting the shaft, manager unwilling to listen and cooperate at all.
Quitting only option?
