How do i get VIVO to run full screen

i got my new connect3d x800GTO (yes mines unlockable but i havnt yet) for xmas and one of the main reasons was VIVO
i wanted to eventually get to play xbox live on my pc monitor since its bigger than my TV
so i want to know if there is some way to get the playback to go fullscreen or do i need to download some new player i can get a preview window in Windows Movie Maker but its about 300pixels wide which isnt nearly enough to play games on


any ideas would help

I really don't understand your question !

XBOx game aren't built for widescreen aspect I think :! reask the question and break it down beacuse i really don't understand what you are asking

Try Media Player Classic, its small, free and it supports most directshow devices. You can configure the audio/video renderers.

Basically i want to hook up either my Xbox or Gamecube to use through my computer monitor how can i get it to play in a full screen mode
the only way i can seem to get video is if i use a movie editing software and start a video capture using Video In as my video source
but that only gives me a small preview window

The card should have come with software to do this.

Otherwise, you should be able to use something like Media Player Classic (or anything that can watch a feed from a capture card). You don't have to use editing software to watch the video.

The card didnt come with any such software when i searched this topic i found that no1's card has come with this software

mediaplayer classic doesnt seem to work when ever i tell it to capture a device it becomes unresponsive and ctrl alt delete cant even stop it

My ATI VIVO cards came with no capture software either.

MPC does work with all my capture devices including VIVO, so perhaps you have a fubured driver install? It should be using Rage Theater Video Capture, I just checked it on mine...works like a champ.

i have the catalyst 5.13 drivers installed if thats what u mean? and it says its going to Rage theater video capture then it just freezes

The Catalyst drivers include the rage Theater wdm drivers for the VIVO. Sounds like they are installed since it is listed as a device within MPC and you can use Windows Movie Maker. I'm using XP MCE 2005 rather than XP SP2, but it should make no difference.

Sounds like a conflict, or driver issue. Check device manager and make sure you see no yellow "!"

That could be your issue. The disabled onboard audio shouldn't be attempting to install any drivers, so it shouldn't be even listed in device manager.

Under "Sound, video and game controllers"
Do you see:

* ATI WDM Rage Theater Video...
*ATI WDM specialized MVD Codec <---suspect this is your "!"

No, it should be there.

I still think it may be related to that conflict in device manager, but I dunno?

I'm just guessing? A device manager conflict concerning A/V would be a place to start anyway.

I got a program called Multiquence it wont run fullscreen but u can drag the sreen to about 800x640 or so so its not to bad

ATI's customer support said that the other companies that make their card get to decide which software to put with their cards so i guess ATI's multimedia center would do the trick however the only way to get it is to have a made by ATI VIVO supported graphics card

What I do is install the software for capturing and then I use VLC. Then I open it up and go to file >> open capture device, select my card and it displays.

Its freely downloadable from ATI except for the DVD decoder which requires an ATI install disc to verify and its not even required for the VIVO. I'm not absolutely positive it will recognise the RageTheater chip on your card, but I suspect it does since the chip and drivers both come from ATI.

I'm not so sure it will behave differently than MPC, but both work full screen with my ATI VIVO cards, so maybe worth a shot?

Actually i finnally found multimedia center on the ATI website so it runs fullscreen with amazing options like one touch recording and lots of others i would provide a link for anyone else with same probs but links r useless on ATI's website my friend linked me to it but it just took me to the homepage so soory for no link but u can get ATI multimedia center from their website
