Step 1) Get pot
Step 2) Fill pot with water
Step 3) Put egg in water
Step 4) Boil egg

Would you like instructions on how to turn your tap on?

for hard boiled, bring the water to a boil, put the eggs in water for 10 minutes or so. for slightly runny, put them in for 8 minutes, and for sloppy runny, around 5-6.

NO WAY!!!!!
It's crazy I know, I actually had to consult another forum before I posted because I wasn't sure I had the correct order of steps.

I usually cook them for 15 minutes. Can't stand runny hard boiled eggs. Blech!

Important! Let your eggs warm up before you put them in the boiling water- otherwise, the temerature change will cause them to crack. Just put them in warm water from the tap until they feel room temperature.

Guys ever hear of the 3 minute "Onsen" egg? You basically boil it for.....3 minutes. Outside is soft yet firm, inside is runny but hot. It's an old Japanese favorite.

Put the eggs in the water while its cold. Bring the water to boil and let it boil for three mins and turn it off. When the water is cooled back down they are done.

see it's not as straightforward as some of you thought...

what's the right way to do it ? throwing the egg in boiled water or cold water ?

No, it's as straightforward as I know. I already told you this, you put the water in the pot, and then the egg and then boil the water with the egg submersed.

I'm sorry but boiling an egg may be one of the most straightforward cooking tasks ever.

i put them in cold water from the tap, then bring it to a full boil, turn off the heat (gas stove) or move to cool burner (electric), and let them sit for 30 minutes. then run cool water into the pot for a minute or so to slowly bring the temp back down, take them out, and put 'em in the fridge.

boiled eggs will spoil faster so eat them up in a week or so.

3 pt water
6 egg
step1:Heat water till you hear noise.
step2:Turn off heat put egg in the pot and cover it .
step3:Then take it out 20 mins later.

This way the yolk will be yellow without the greenish layer

Let the water come to a full boil before putting the eggs in then it only takes about 5-8 minutes. I usually leave them in double that just to make sure, because I'm too lazy to clean up a mess. Make sure afterwards you soak them in cold water for about 5-10 mins cuz it makes the shell come off easier.
