How do I make my ipod play in my car?

Hey guys, I have a 2001 Lexus ES300 and so far Ive been doing the belkin FM transmitter thing in my car from my ipod, but it really blows and Im not happy with it, especially when I drive in the city the distortion is just terrible. I hate the sound quality.

I was considering buying a car deck with auxilary in and use my ipod that way but its expensive, like 150 bucks for a deck and probably another 150 for installation, mounting bracket, and special module.

Is there any easy fix for my problem? Like can I possibly buy some sort of auxilary in kit and connect it to my speakers? I really don't care about having an actual MP3 deck to put the CD inside etc.

My car has the stock tape deck and stock CD player which is in the glove compartment 6 CD changer. The CD player sounds amazing when playing CD's, so much better then my FM ipod trash.

Tape deck? Get one of these. Much better quality than the FM transmitters.

Yeah, I hate how stock decks never have aux-in. Such an easy and cheap way to make it future-proof, but noooo.:roll:

if you dont mind losing the changer, look around for some sort of adaptor that can take over the changer's input. i.e. unplug the changer, attach the adaptor, plug in the ipod through the headphone jack.
