How do I move stuff from c to d drive?

My c drive is almost full . I got a message about I need to delet some files so I can defrag but I have 45 gigs of free space in my d drive. How do I move stuff to the D drive? Everything that I install or save has been going to my c drive. TIA , zippimom

If it's just data like pictures or MP3s then you can either drag and drop or copy and paste. once you have pasted the files then you can delete the originals. Games are not quite so easy. I would copy the game folder to the d drive. then remove the game in add remove programes. then reinstall to the d drive which will go into the folder copyed from the c drive.

Thank you. It is mostly graphics programs. I moved some of the programs that I don't use much over to the d drive and all my seasonal graphics. that seem to work thank for you help.

also , keep track when you install programs . choose custom if you can and direct it to a folder on your d drive

As an extra to my last post, when you have cleaned up your C drive and made more space you should run Disk Defragmenter.
If you go to My Computer, then right click on C drive, select properties, then the tools tab, then defragment now. This will reorganise your files and free space. just like sorting files in a file cabnet.

Repartitioning might be a good idea also, since it seems like all of your free space is localized on D:

I have freed ip some space so I was able to final defrag. but I might be interested in repartioning too. How would I do that.
