I feel for you. Not all relationships are meant to last. The most important part of the story is that you are already attracted to someone else, and you are ready to leave your girlfriend for her, and not just primarily because your girlfriend is gaining weight.

You are at that age when you need to go out and have some fun. Go have your fun, and sooner or later you will grow out of it. It is the best thing for you and her. But I would never tell her that I was leaving her because she was getting fat. Saying something like, "I need to see other people" seems a little less destructive.
