Hello All,

Just got a new smart phone my first. I have a broken ipod - that said I would like to get all my music off itunes and save it to my micro sd in my Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do that.

Regards and Happy New year1

Try DoubleTwist/Winamp or if you like your music from the cloud, Google Music. You can upload upto 20,000 of your songs for free and stream and/or pin (download) to your device.

The location of your iTunes library is under:
iTunes -> Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced and it's near the top.

Once you know where your music is, open up a file browser - like Windows Explorer, go there and copy the .mp3's there to your microSD.

I hear DoubleTwist is a good app. It's one of the apps I got during the Android Market sale.
I've never personally used it, but my brother used it with great success. He has an iPod Touch.

pm's way is also easy. Just copy and paste overnight before you sleep if you have lots of music.

Select mp3 files, Ctrl+c. Music folder on phone, ctrl+v?
I don't own one but I thought android phones where drag 'n drop..? Does iTunes do something special to the files? I haven't used it in a long while.

If you actually bought the music in iTunes you either need to pay more to rip off the DRM, or burn a CD and rip that back to the phone.

Depending on how you got the songs, they might be AAC files instead of MP3. If you downloaded them from the music store, or ripped them with iTunes, they're probably AAC. Also, if you import MP3 files I believe it asks if you want to convert them to AAC.

I'm assuming that this won't pose a problem as most devices also support AAC, but you may need to convert them if the device doesn't. Also, as Poofyhairguy mentioned if the files have DRM on them you'll need to burn and re-rip them.

Media monkey will convert them and sync the to your Android phone.

1) anything bought on itunes in the last 5 years is NOT DRM.

2) your phone probably places AAC audio files, most devices do. If your phone does play AAC go to 3.

2.5) IF you have to convert to mp3, in itunes, go to preferences select import settings, change import using to mp3 encoder, save settings. Select all your music, right click, select create mp3 version, After it finishes, delete all the AAC versions. note, this will not remove DRM.

3) find your itunes music folder, find your phone music folder and drag and drop

I use iSyncr, it's not free but it's the best Android iTunes app there is. I only use iTunes for my music, so this is probably the 1 non stock Android app I can't live without.
