Continued from the previous thread.

Post here if you need some help or if you have some answers about getting various deals and promotions posted in Hot Deals. Please keep replies brief and on topic. Long discussions will only clog up the thread and make it difficult for anyone to find the answers they need.

Please do not post coupon numbers or links to sites that would be prohibited in other posts.

Requests for deals on specific items should be posted in the ~~~~ IWANNA ~~~~ thread.

Raves and rants about good and bad deals and vendors questions should be posted in the ~~~~ Brag & Moan ~~~~ thread.

Thank You, and enjoy yourselves here while lending a hand to your fellow forum members.

How do I price match at local B&M stores with an internet store deal?

For instance I would like to price match at my local best buy or circuit city or target with a
product for sale advertised on Amazon.com. Has anybody successfully done this? I want
to price match with a local B&M store to get the product at the local store at the internet price
for a faster purchase (since I need this item for travel.)

Also, How do I get the cheapest price for the Sony MVC-CD250 Digital Camera that saves the images
on a mini cd. There is a current $100.00 rebate for this camera, and I can't believe that nobody has
found a reasonable HOT DEAL for this camera.

THANKS!!!!!

I think BB or CC pricematch to any competitor internet sites. Read their policies to be sure.

I have a question about CC or BB (or any other stores) pricematch policy. I never ever succeeded in pricematching anything I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I feel like these stores are not being truthful in their pricematch agreements. They will always have excuses like "oh we don't price match online" or "oh we don't pricematch small no-name stores" etc. Now I really want to pricematch Metroid Prime for Gamecube, which my friend bought for 20 dollars new at blockbuster. I have the ad from the internet along with his receipt. I went all the way to Bestbuy and they say "oh we don't pricematch blockbuster" ...... sigh.....

I will try going to CC tomorrow but it is kind of far.... will a receipt and an online ad be sufficient? I'm sure they will come up with an excuse like "Blockbusters only sell used games " etc.

Any advice on pricematching process?

Your reply would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Places like blockbusters that do only sell used games is a viable arguments, because CC and BB do not sell used items, and therefore will not sell their new items at used item prices. I have found the policies, and highlighted them appropriately.

Best buy pricing policy:
Pricing Policies
Online prices, offers and selection may vary from our retail stores and are subject to change.

In-Store Price Guarantee ? If, within 30 days (14 days for computers, monitors, printers and notebooks, camcorders, digital cameras and radar detectors) of your purchase from Best Buy, you find a local competitor (excluding Internet competitors) offering a lower price on an available product of the same brand and model, we'll refund the difference plus another 10% of the difference. Just bring us a current ad or other verifiable written proof of the lower price, plus your original Best Buy sales receipt to claim your refund. [/b]This offer good only on all new in-the-box products of the same brand and model that is availble in-store at any other local authorized retailer[/b]
(IE: Joe's ad in the classfieds probably doesnt pass as an authorized retailer). It does not apply to competitor's one-of-a-kind or other limited quantity offer, or when a bonus or free offer (such as special financing program or manufacturer's rebate) is included in the purchase. Offer does not apply to BestBuy.com pricing. All returns exchanges and price adjustments must be made in the country of original purchase. See a Customer Service Representative for details.

*In California, excludes cellular, digital and PCS phones and pagers.

Online Price Guarantee ? At this time we do not have a price match guarantee. However, if you purchase an item online or at an in-store kiosk and choose in-store pick up, and the item is offered at a lower price when you pick it up, you will be charged the lower price.

Circuit City:
Auto Price Protection

As a benefit of selecting our Express Pickup option you will automatically receive the lower of our website price on your day of purchase or the in-store price (at your selected store) on the day of pickup. The difference will automatically be refunded to your original pay type. It's that simple! We go a step further, you also get our 30 day Price Match Plus Guarantee after receiving your purchase.

To take advantage our "Automatic Low Price", you must choose the in-store Express Pickup option. Circuit City's Price Match Plus Guarantee, however, applies to all purchases made from circuitcity.com or our stores.

Circuit City's Price Match Plus Guarantees

Online Price Match Plus Guarantee (for purchases made at circuitcity.com)

Nothing's worse than paying too much. That's why we do everything in our power to make sure you don't pay a penny more than you should for anything you buy at Circuit City. If you've seen a lower advertised price from a local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. Even after your Circuit City purchase, if you see a lower advertised price (including our own sale prices) within 30 days, we'll refund 110% of the difference. We're with you!

Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers, and special financing. In order to take advantage of our Price Match Plus Guarantee, you must visit or call your nearest Circuit City store, as we do not provide electronic online price matches.

In-Store Price Match Plus Guarantee (for purchases made in one of our stores)

Nothing's worse than paying too much. That's why we do everything in our power to make sure you don't pay a penny more than you should for anything you buy at Circuit City. I would try another CC. Also a good method of doing this is asking an employee if they can call a company to pricematch before buying the product. Then buy the product then walk strait to the csr counter and ask them to call for a pricematch, and if they dont tell them you talked to a employee who said they did.

Or you could buy the product go home for a day open the product and then come back the next day saying you want to pricematch. I'm sure CC doesnt want a product that has been opened to be returned to them so they probably would be more willing to call for a Pricematch. If they refuse to pricematch say you werent satisfied and return the game, this only works with CC too because they have the best return policy.

The last method seems like being a major butthead though.

pricematching is all a crapshoot. personally i do not find it worth my time or my gas money to pricematch any more. loss of the few bucks i might save are balanced by the hassle i don't have to go through.

Hello everyone!

How do I use Dell Coupons? I know there are a ton of SB coupons floating around and stuff; Do you really have to be a small business to be able to use these coupons? What's out there right now that I can use? Specifically, I'm looking for a docking station/port replicator for my Inspiron. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Cathy

just open a small business account with your name as the business (critical because it's tough to cash rebate checks if its under something else)... use the coupons and buy away

Question about pricematching. Do any of the retail stores (not online) pricematch from actual store receipts?

I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck trying to PM to a Sam's computer item. Hopefully this is the correct forum for that request. If not, my apologies to all for the ignorance of a newbie.

This is my great year for messed up rebates. I used to be real organized with a folder I kept all "in progress" stuff in, xeroxed everything etc etc. Stuff has happened this last year though, so I have messed up a BUNCH.

Rebates I have missed the deadline on sending I figure are hopeless, but I also have a stack of checks I failed to deposit that were only good until some now passed date. Any hope for these checks? I live in Calif if that makes a difference, and yes I guess once I have everything gathered together I will call some of the rebate places.

I have a situation where I sent in a Simpletech rebate a few day after the 14 day deadline. Do I have a hope of ever getting the rebate? Should I return the product to Dell even without the UPC? Thanks!

what is that website that rates online retailers?
So if I can see how reputable they are.
And if I remember right they also rate particular people.
Kinda like an ebay rating.

Maybe is the bottom line to most rebate questions.

Which date did you miss by how many days? Was it a postmark date or a recieve by date, and which day of the week was the deadline?

Best thing to do is call the rebate center and get a status report, WITHOUT saying something like I sent it in late, but ... A nice "neutral" response is that "I think I sent it in in plenty of time".

The Mecca of computer retailer ratings is found at ResellerRatings.com. There you can search for reviews of hundreds of retailers. Always check the ratings out before you pounce a deal, as the site shows there are an overabundance of shady companies out there.

Im sorry if this shouldnt be posted here if it shouldnt be please direct me the appropriate forum....

My question is if a online vendor has a single use coupon that is not a unique number, ie its a webpage that you click through and go to the site. This coupon explicitly states "May not be combined with other offers, one per customer".

I go through and can use the coupon over and over, once per order. I have been able to make 3 orders so far and they have all been processed shipped and recieved. Is there anything the company can do once it leaves their warehouse, they charge my card and I recieve the item? I am almost sure they cannot just go and charge me the coupon price for each use past the first.

Can they legally make me pay them for using the coupon over and over? What if I use it 100 times im sure a flag will come up but what can they do?

Please PM me if you are seriously knowledgeable on this subject.

Thanks.

Once an order has left the warehouse and been delivered then can not charge you more. They could cancel the order before it ships and just refund you your money. If they charge you more then what was shown at checkout then call them and your credit card company. It is illegal to charge you the extra money without your consent.

It seems like you are using an officemax or staples click on the link and the coupon is entered into your shopping cart. They probably won't catch on unless you use it a couple dozen times. The worst thing they will do is close your account so you can not order from them again.

Assuming they close the account, I dont mind. Im just worried about getting a letter or a something saying you used a single use coupon 10 times, you owe us for each additional usage after the first, pay $180 or we sue do whatever.... any lawyers in the house?

Anyone know where to enter in coupon codes on the JC Whitney site? I've looked everywhere and I can't find any place to enter in the code that is all over for 10% off.

Anyone?
