This is where you can ask for help in getting various deals and promotions posted in Hot Deals and post replies. Please keep replies brief and on topic. Long discussions will only clog up the thread and make it difficult for anyone to find the answers they need.

The same rules apply about not posting coupon numbers or links to sites that would be prohibited in other posts.

Requests for deals on specific items should be placed in the ~~~~IWANNA~~~~ thread,

Raves and rants about good and bad deals and vendors questions in the ~~~~ Brag & Moan ~~~~ thread.

Thank You, and enjoy yourselves here while lending a hand to your fellow forum members.

How does one actually USE pointclick for the 10% rebate? Someone told me you hafta have enough credit built up from surfing to do that?? IE: if I wanted to buy something for $100 and get back $10 on the rebate, I'd hafta have so much credit already built up. Didn't make sense to me. Maybe someone can clarify?

BigZ: have you been filling out the reimbursement requests? You need to do that and then forward the order confirmation email to pointclick so it will get credited

i was JUST going to ask the same thing. The 10% doesn't show up in my "pending check" status tho.. only the amount that I gained through clicking (a long time ago...).

Speaking of pointclick, they have symbols now for their vendors - a green thing and a red thing. Onvia.com only shows up as green, which means you get credit for visiting their site, but can you still get 10% BACK from the vendor?

I haven't tried it (pointclick 10%) at all yet because I wanted to be sure how it worked first. So you do NOT have to have any minimum balance of surf credit to do the 10% then? You could theoretically open the acct and order something immediately, fill out the proper forms & get the check on their next check cycle?

On another note, I don't see Onvia on PC anymore, so I guess this could be all for nothin, since that's where I was lookin to order from.

I, too, am a new pointclick user, and interpreted the symbols to mean that buying through Onvia no longer gets you the 10% rebate. Could be wrong, but I'm not dropping $240 on a Plextor drive until I'm sure.

Wow! Looks like I just made it for using PC/Onvia. Onvia was listed this afternoon on PointClick. If you look under the reimbursement area, they still have Onvia listed. Must be final day for this - I hope that the rebate gets processed, I have $67 coming from todays purchases!

I've used pointclick since it started....those were the good old days. Now you can bearly get any credit by surfing...maybe a buck or two a day. I used to get $10-$20 per day....well, I guess they have to make money somehow
Okay, now for the questions....

1. No, you do not need any credit to start earning money. You can get your checks completely from the 10% discounts.
2. The 10% should show up in the payout history window...they give you back 10% of your total purchase (less tax and shipping), and then they add whatever credit you have from surfing onto that 10%.
3. You can only get a reimbursement if the site has a little red box by it. I've never tried getting a reimbursement when the site doesn't have the box...even though I've heard that a few people have succeeded at getting a reimbursement even without clicking through the pointclick link, but I wouldn't try it.
4. Onvia and several other sites seem to have specific times when they are green, red, or both. Just wait until it's red to make your purchase. You can never be too careful. Onvia seems to be red during the morning til the early afternoon....so watch for it then.

Hope that answers everything. I've personally got over $700 in free stuff!!!

Thanks, you've helped to clear it up. Now if you could only help me decide to either get the 12/10/32 cdrw now in ide, or sit tight and get the scsi

(don't answer that, wouldn't want the topicops to start flashin their badges<G>)

Just remember that you need $25 in your "approved reimbursements" until they send you a check.
The plextor drive at onvia will not get you enough (if you use the $25 coupon), so you will have to make another purchase sometime before the month if over if you want to get in the next payment cycle.
Any ideas when the scsi model is coming out??? That would be one sweet burner

When I saw Onvia.com the other day it was only GREEN, and the explanation for green was that it could be used for surfing credit, but NO reimbursement.

I only have about $11 in my account right now - guess I'll have to buy more!

I've also noticed that every time I've seen Onvia listed on PC, it's a link to their auction site. I assume you can still browse over to the e-tail side & still do the rebate?

Where do I find the code for $25 off $200 from onvia?
I tried looking at older posts but everything has been moderated.

Trifecta - I don't have a good deal on one....but I would not use one for stills. Although it is a digital signal, you still lose a half generation to a full generation loss when stilling images. You are better off just getting a digital camera for that purpose.

Hrmmm.. For pointclick, I just looked at my history... I ha requested $23.55 (total of purchase before s/h). The history says the Applied account is $21.19 + a $2.36 discount. What is that suppose to mean? I don't see a 10% extra in there..

lnguyen, the $21.19 is the money taken out of your surfing credit, and the $2.36 is the 10% discount from the $23.55 purchase. When you add both up, you just got whatever you bought for free!!!

Pointclick first takes the 10% off, and then it covers the rest of the purchase with your surfing credit. So in this case, it took the $2.36 off, then the $21.19 from your surfing credit to give you a total of $23.55.

They do deliver btw. I've already cashed a check for $40 or so that they delivered about 3 weeks(at most) after I requested it. As for surfing reimbursements... I think at-home-bead-making would be more fiscally rewarding.

Did you settle on a particular model? I saw ur thread over at peripherals... I couldn't think of any good ones that had USB, but then again I haven't shopped around lately. I'm pretty happy with my Nikon Coolpix 800. Has everything you wanted except for USB I think. Couldn't complain at $300 from mobshop a few months ago.

Pointclick only reimburses you up the the amount of your purchase. First they give you 10%, then they cover the rest with your credit. When they reach the amount of the purchase, they save the rest of your credit for your next purchase.
