Went to Staples today and bought the tracphone and CD-R's on the same receipt. Both rebates required original receipts. What should we do? I've heard we can get reprinted receipts at Staples?

(Items were purchased @ Hackensack, NJ Staples).

The odd thing is that the CDR rebate goes to Hackensack

Staples usually accepts copies of receipts since the manufacturer absolutely requires the original receipt. There is no guarantee but it's worth a shot.

Or try contacting Staples rebate center and asking them.

some people mentioned about it being rebadged plextor, while others said sanyo or lite on, etc. This also happens on other cdrw brands as well....

so how can i tell what kind i have? how do i know if the cdrw drive that i have is a rebadged of another brand?

Head to http://www.roundsparrow.com/Comp/Iomega1/. If your drive has 2 LEDs, it's a Sanyo, 1 LED, it's a Plextor.

Note that there's also a firmware update for the Sanyo, and I've flashed it on my Iomega and it works fine.

I'm new to the hod deals forums -- so go easy on me.

I am looking to get a DV Camera, and I was wondering which of the big name sites will do the best price matching. There are several shady looking sites that are more than $600-1000 cheaper for the same camera, but they all have horrible feedback.

What I was hoping to do was price match a sony vx2000 camera and apply a free shipping code or whatever deals or coupons are available.

Are there any sites like amazon.com or bestbuy.com that do price-matching? And where do I find out how to do it.

I'd like to find out which anandtech members live in Louisiana. Frequently there are Hot Deals that may be out of stock in one city but not another. Perhaps we could help one another out. Also if people have merchandise for sale or trade etc. it might be easier to get together.

Just thinking about other ways this could be helpful.

So........can I get a list of the LA members?? Is there a way set up to do this already?

seems Staples will PM most places(coupons/codes will not be allowed on PMed item( s ) ) but they will also take shipping into the mix(usually try to pop you with overnight charges unless the PMee is promoting free shipping ).....oh for the good ole days of PM and coupon/codes... hope this helps

If you're doing a pricematch with coupon, than try and do it B&M if at all possible. Stores are more flexible by virtue of their ignorance of official policy.
