Wow. Here in DC, I don't see Macallan 12 anywhere, unlike Philly where it was more common. Makes me realize that for $4 on the rocks, it really was a steal

I'm not investing in a bottle, since the red was so disappointing. But I had completely forgotten about the possibility of just buying a shot to try it. Out of curiosity, I think I'll just get a shot of JW black at a bar one of these days.

They names a whisky Glenrothes? Glenrothes is a hovel, a pre-planned suburban town designed around a new coalmine which was a total failure and closed just a few years in. (I must applaud the Wiki entry, makes the place look quite nice, quite a feat). This is the last place I'd expect a whisky to associate itself with. Guess they figured the name sounded good and nobody would know.
