How do people with the iPhone 6+ like it?

i got mine the 19th, and returned it on the 22nd to the verizon store, and had my ip6 on the 23rd.

i like the ip6 A LOT more than the plus. it was way too big. i'm just not a fan of not being able to 1 hand it and having to use 2 hands to do anything with the phone. and then it wouldn't fit into the normal spots i set my phone in my car when listening to pandora too, so it was just all around too large.

today i was out fishing and had to walk a mile to get where i had to go, and it was nice to be able to reply to texts that i received while walking back to my car and holding my water in my other hand. i constantly have something in my hand in general when i'm walking so it's nice to be able to use 1 hand to use my phone.

i really think the ip6 is still too big, and if i was on an ip5 or 5s, i wouldn't have upgraded. but i was on a 4 year old ip4 so it's really nice having a faster phone. i still think the ip5 is the perfect size for a phone.

I can't speak about the feel between the 6 and 6+ but I haven't really noticed anything between the 6+ and 5S.

The only thing I have to say is that you REALLY need to want a phablet-sized device if you want the 6+. I got the 6+ basically just for the camera OIS and, last night, I picked up my 5S after not having held it a few days and thought "wow, this is nice."

I held a 6 at BB yesterday and I could see it being "small enough" which is at least telling me that my initial feelings that something in the 4.3-4.5" range were the best device for me wasn't crazy. I'm just not crazy that Apple is treating the 6+ different, software-wise, and that it's getting extra hardware features. I still have a week or so to decide...

I upgraded from 5 to 6 4.7". The 6 is a perfect size for me since I can still use it one-handed. Have no interest in a phablet sized 6+, and its slightly better camera is no match to a dedicated camera I use for anything serious. Using the 6 without the case is too slippery, so I got a TPU case for better grip.

Many apps still look too "zoomed in" and need to be optimized for 6/6+ displays.

Wife bought the iPhone 6+ on release day (9/19). It was returned back to Apple on Monday (9/22) and she got the regular iPhone 6 on 9/24. She is happy with the smaller iPhone 6.

6+ was just too big and she felt that she would drop it. Infact, she did not even use it on Sun/Mon before returning. With the case, it was even bigger (and phone felt slippery without case).

I had the 6+ and returned it for the 6 because it is too big to use one handed. I use my right thumb for opening apps and if I needed to use it somewhere on the top left of the screen I had to constantly slide the phone down my hand to get to it. Real annoying. I tried moving my most used apps toward the bottom of the screen but its pointless as any apps you use(safari, etc) you still need access to the upper part of the screen.

I also noticed lag(opening Facebook I saw a black screen for 1-2 seconds before seeing content) although I thought that was just a normal thing due to the scaling and the app not being optimized for the 6+ yet. Since I switched to the 6 I see no lag in FB or any other apps. The 6 is the perfect size.

Majority of people I know have returned the 6+ for the 6.

I took my wife to get the 6+, it was too big, had her look at the 6, still too big. Didn't want a 5S/5C because of the extra thumb reach required on the 4" screen, so she's sticking with the 3.5" iPhone 4S because it's pocketable & more easily used one-handed.

Buddy just got his 6+ Friday, came over yesterday, and is fixing to return it for a 6. He's a bigger guy but even for him it's too big. Like others said - unless you want a phablet, (which most 6+ buyers weren't thinking about) it's just not a practical daily use phone.

interesting that you mention this lag. i noticed in the NFL app on my ip6+ when i would scroll down the scores, that it was slightly choppy. however on my ip6 it does not happen at all, it's buttery smooth.

i wonder if it does have to do with the scaling of the pages or something.

I love my 6+ and you can't have it! I'm the guy who can use a 6+ one handed and I love it. I actually had a Samsung Note 3 for about 8 months before going back to my iPhone 5 due to compatibility with the apps we needed to use for work. I always liked the size of the Note 3 Android just sucked.

I don't see any lag in the NFL app on mine. I do notice that the app is using the larger signal bar at the top which tells me it's not been optimized at all though.

I love it, it's pretty unlikely that I'll ever go back to a smaller phone. I can use it one-handed in most of the same situations as I could with the iPhone 5, I just had to adjust my grip. Instead of holding it in my palm it just rests across my fingers. This allows my thumb to reach pretty much anywhere on the screen.

It also fits in my pockets fine. And now I don't wish I were using my iPad instead of my phone.

I'm really tempted to exchange my 6 for a 6+ since I use my phone less like an actual phone anyway. Unfortunately, the 14 day exchange window is almost up and all they have are gold ones in stock at my local ATT store. The gold one is just too hideous for me.

Same thing here, the only person I know that has a 6+ still kept his + and bought a 6 as well.

Everyone else traded 'down'.

My colleague has one, but she carries it around in her purse. It looks absolutely massive in her small hands, but she's a two-handed user and likes it.

I found it annoyingly big though.

If I were in your shoes, I would just have upgraded to the 5S, for less money.

Interesting. I wonder if this is the iPad 3 scenario all over again. With the iPad 2 --> iPad 3 transition, Apple didn't have enough performance with the iPad 3 to push the quadrupled resolution, and people complained of lag.

With the iPhone 6 to 6 plus, it's 2.74X the resolution, plus it needs to downsample too. The native resolution of the 6 plus is 2208x1242, which is then downsampled to 1920x1080p, whereas the 6 is only 1334x750.

Initial benches have the iPhone 6 Plus considerably slower for on-screen graphics rendering than even the 5s in some tests.

Heheh, the only 6 and 6 Plus units I've seen in the wild, bought by friends, are gold. Personally I think it looks great.

I'm liking mine so far, but the jury is out since I've not had to spend a day out and about with it in my pants.

I use my 5 less like a phone and more for general tablet pda duties. I'm thinking 6+ but want to see one in shops before pulling the trigger.

I like how you apparently thought you could one hand a Note 3 sized phone.

I don't use a case on my 5s. I do require the other members of my household to use one on theirs. (We have four 5s, one 5 and a 4s)

My fiancee's 5s in a Lifeproof nude is much thicker but about the same width and height as the 6.

I still am happy with my 5s. I usually have to have a laptop with me due to my job so it's not so important my phone acts as more than an email, facebook, messaging/text device with some web ability.

I really like mine. I dont have big hands either. I have a case on mine only because I felt with the size and the aluminum it felt slippery. It fits fine in my shorts and dress pants but its a little big for my jeans. I dont wear skinny jeans though so I am not concerned.

never said i thought i could one hand it.

also, i have no clue what the size of the note 3 is or why that would even be relevant to my opinion of the ip6+.

So after a week or so with the 6, I exchanged it today for a 6+. Umm yeah, it's big. I've been using a Moto X for the past year-ish that I left a Note 3 for. Long story short, I loved the Moto X, didn't like the Note 3 at all, liked the iPhone 6. I know the Note series outclasses the iPhone 6+ in every sense (as far as phablets go) but I'm liking it so far (though it's only been a few hours).

I'm gonna give this a week to see if the Plus is a keeper or not.

I don't understand. You think the Note is better than the 6+, you didn't like your Note at all, but now you're trying a 6+?

I have a 4.3" and the wife a 5". I don't understand what is so great about a bigger phone. If I want a bigger screen, I can just hold the phone 2" closer to my face and it's the same thing. Except with a smaller phone I can more easily touch the screen in all corners.

I have the +, and have been happy with it. I think it's like all things, you just get used to it.
It's funny, when I use my kids 5 now they feel much smaller than I remember. Like when you first get a quarter after handling poker chips all weekend in Vegas. Or when I got an 80" tv, it seemed so huge on the wall. Now it just feels like a regular tv.
