I'm considering a cylidrical reservoir for my first watercooling build, but don't understand certain designs.

In this model (EK RES X4 250), when the water flows in from the top, doesn't it produce bubbles like a waterfall?

In this model (Alphacool Eisbecher 150), what is that inside tube coming up from the bottom?

Here is that tube again (Alphacool Eisbecher 150 Lite), yet coming from the top:

Can someone shed some light?

Those tubes are anti cyclone effect.

As it draw water from the bottom, the water will swirl like a whirlpool.

The top one has grates to somehow counter it.
The bottom one i have no idea why its up that high, and what advantage that would do other then keeping your res level higher, but it can pull air if your res is not completely filled.

The bottom one is standard as its supossed to feed water down the whirlpool and break it apart.
But it also has baffles at the bottom to counter that issue as well.

Given how tall your res is, and where you really dont want to worry about bubbles.
Personally i dont use short tubes.
When i did use tubes, i would use koolances 80mm diameter and use very long ones... <240mm length.

I would only use the bottom ports in a vertical possition, as it makes bleeding much easier, and never the top port or mount it horizontally, as your asking for it in bleeding, without a proper T line.
