Actually the first one isn't the proper pronunciation, the proper pronunciation is "NEE-keh", the modern English pronunciation is "NAI-kee", and your pathetic excuse for a pronunciation is not even in the running. It looks like you're doubly removed into egregious dumbassery.

I'd take offense, but negative commentary on my pronunciation doesn't mean anything to me when it comes from a yank.
I think anyone who gives a shit how someone else pronounces the name of a brand of shoe is a dumbass.

Anyone who pronounces the name of a Greek goddess so atrociously incorrectly is a dumbass, and the so-called premier authority on the English language seems to agree with me on the pronunciation: http://dictionary.oed.com/cgi/...first=1&max_to_show=10

What's the point of posting that, dumbass? I already acknowledged that I may not pronounce it "correctly" in my first post. It just doesn't matter. That's how everyone pronounced it when I was a kid, so that's how I pronounce it.
I see no reason to make a conscious effort to change that. It's not even something I say very often.

It's cool, you're fine- this other guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Unless we're speaking Ancient Greek, your pronunciation is correct. If we're speaking English, the word, whether you're referring to the shoe company or the Greek goddess, is pronounced the way you've always done it.
