Priority 10

24 hours Large FFT.

16-18th hours is when it's most prone to error, so 12 isn't enough.

huh? what are those numbers? priority is blacked out for me.

i just put torture test and go down the dots ... first on is small fft? than large fft for max heat or something ... and than blend ...

same goes for dual core too? do we all concur upon these conditions? all in favor? all oppose? GOOD!

oh... didn't know it needed a password. Thought you had to register it and get a username etc.

So... is the "24 hours Large FFT" something I enter? or is he saying to run large FFT for 24 hours (2nd option for 24 hours)

if so... than ... putting in the pw and picking priority 10 doesn't really do anyting different right? or are you saying to pick custom and run it for a day (input on prime is in minutes for this).

Thanks!

he is saying to run large FFT for 24 hours (2nd option for 24 hours), there's no input for putting in a period of time.

putting in the pw and picking priority 10 helps because it gives Prime high priority. At default, Prime is on priority 1. On the scope of things, priority 4 is Screen Saver and priority 9 is normal application. so priority 10 really streses your system rather than priority 1 because priority 10 will STARVE your system, rather than having any app come along and take away from low priority 1.

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who was confused by the first post. So just to clarify I click on "Torture Test" and select the second option right?

Yes.

that will make your life easier.

if you have an X2, run two instances of this program. put one copy in two seperate folders and run the program from each.

I set it on 10 and I see no difference. I am able to stop it just fine as before changing the priority.

you don't really need to have it on for 24 hours? 16hours is more than enough.

I used to run Prime95 "Custom FFT" min: 2058 max: 4096

I found that identified errors much quicker than the existing pre-canned setting. Give it a try. I think many of the old timers would concur that it was the setting that lit up a CPU the fastest and found errors the quickest.

Hmmm so some settings are more stressful on the cpu..
cpuburn might be a better torture test since it probably uses more execution units.

Bro, use SUPER PI WITH 32MB FILE. for me it's more fast and precisly that the prime 95, i don't know why, but the most of the case everthing is working fine, 3dmark05, sisoft sandra and just get errors witn prime 95. and the system is complety stable. i telling you by my own experience. if you have dual core cpu, load to instance of the same program to test both cores.
