How do we feel about tan interiors?

I've owned a couple of cars with tan leather interiors and while they look amazing when clean, they do tend to get dirty easily and are harder to keep clean.

Still, I think it is a very attractive color for a car interior. Especially a nicely crafted German car.

For the most part I like tan interiors. I like the deeper/darker ( baseball mit/saddle tan) more than the lighter tan colors. I like blue interiors too but you really rarely see them anymore

Fiancee had a tan interior Ford Taurus, it was ugly and horrible inside.
I had a tan interior Chrysler 300M, it was quite nice inside.

Now both of our cars happen to have black interiors which are boring and too hot in the sun.

Depends on whether it has leather or cloth seats. I wouldn't buy a car with tan interior and cloth. It just feels and looks cheap and it gets dirty too quickly. My last two vehicles have had gray interior and my current car has a black interior (which is okay but like you said, too hot in the sun).

My wife's car has tan leather and it looks really nice. I prefer it to my car but they're both nice inside so I can't complain too much. I didn't really have much choice with my car as there were very few to choose from in the SoCal area. They just don't sell very many with the V8 engine so it was literally a choice between 3-4 cars and I had been looking on and off for a few months.

Not a fan. They get dirty too easy. Maybe if they did a tan upper and black lower? Its more a practicality thing though. They look nice enough on leather interiors so long as they are clean.

My 2006 Jetta TDI has a tan interior (tan leather seats too) and I like it. Gives it a neutral but unique look compared to all the cars out there with black interiors.

More easy to see dirt as mentioned but it's not that big a deal to me.

I have umber/light tartufo (tan) leather in my Cayenne. I don't find it hard to keep clean, but I'm glad the dash is the darker color. Porsche even warns you now on their configurator about a light colored dashboard causing reflections on the windshield.

I don't like monotone interiors. They have to make each piece some color, why not compatible colors for different components? And knowing what I do about the auto industry, making various components the same color is difficult. The auto manufacturers of course foist that off on their vendors but it seems to me it would be easier to have adjacent components from different suppliers in different colors. I prefer a three color interior with darker carpet, contrasting seats, door and dash pads the same color with accent colors in the dash. For example darker top and lighter for the rest.

How many have a room in their homes with walls, floors, ceiling and furniture all the same color?

I was about to pull the trigger on an Explorer Limited w/ Tan interior. Wife changed my mind. I like how it looks but with kids, it's bound to show every single little thing.

My grandfather had a White Lincoln in the past with a tan leather Coach interior that was pretty nice, but I usually prefer a black cloth one myself in Florida. It just heats up in the sun when parked to me if it is black leather, had the option to put it in pretty cheap the last car and stuck with cloth.

Our CLS550 has tan interior (I believe they call it Silk Beige) but the dash top is a darker color. Gives a nice contrast but no reflections. The top edge of the door cards is the same material.

When I go to buy a new car within the next year, I will consider it, provided I can get it with the exterior color that I would like to get.
Nice thing is in hot climates, the interior will stay cooler. Downside is, it will show dirt much more easily.

I looked at a new Mazda RX-7 a few years ago with a black leather interior, and it almost looked like a S&M dungeon.

Would be hotter than hell down here if parked outside, but was pretty Smexy looking

Was fun just to sit in it in the showroom.

Is this considered tan? My fav interior by far.

Is that the S-Class sedan or coupe? Man, the coupe is dead sexy... that's $140k worth of car though and that's the starting point. The AMG version is upward of $200k.

Both of our new cars have tan interiors and we much prefer it to black. Stays much cooler in the summer. I do prefer the black carpet and healiner over the tan in my wife's car. That helps hide dirt and gives it more contrast.

Not a fan of brown or tan. Light gray with black or dark gray is OK. Dark gray is OK. BLACK is where it's at (I know...I know...many will disagree but that's the way it is. 6 of last 8 cars have been black interior / black exterior with the exceptions both being my daughter's cars (she had a red with gray interior Colbalt and now a white with dark gray interior Jeep Patriot).

Tans and browns.....yuck!
