How do you carry a gun while jogging?

I'm glad reports of joggers being mugged on the trail in broad daylight are so rare where you live. In many areas that is not the case.

Couldn't you just get any molle-compatible holster and strap it to your bike frame? Would take some creativitiy to secure it, but would relieve you of the weight.

In my area it happens about 3 times a year. The odds of my being one of those 3 are slim, but all the same I'd rather not be a victim if it came to it.

Also, running with ~1 lb of extra weight makes me that much more hardcore than you.

Thought about that but what if you get separated from your bike? There was a recent story about 4 guys that tried to mug a guy on a bike, they knocked him off.......heh, he knocked one of them off, wounded a 2nd.:awe:

It's rare, but it happens. My gun is disaster insurance, nothing more. It's not the act of carrying that makes one paranoid, it's the attitude. If someone's carrying and they're constantly looking around for some imminent threat like a wannabe-rambo, or constantly showing it off, then they're some combination of paranoid and/or insecure. With me and guys like me, you could hang out with us all day and you'd never know we were carrying unless we told you. And we wouldn't unless the conversation went that way for some reason. On average I think about my gun less than I think about my wallet.

Another nice perk about carrying all the time. Once you feel comfortable enough to tell someone, it's an instant litmus test as to how judgmental they are.

I don't want anything attached to the bike frame, a gun needs to be on your body.



The best places to ride bikes are 20+ miles out from the city on trails that go through not so great areas. It's not uncommon for 'robbing crews' of thugs to knife people in the process of taking their stuff.


The politic aspect of this doesn't bother me, but please keep the holster recommendations coming. So far it's looking like the pt-one trump is the one I'll go with.
