How do you carry a gun while jogging?

Always have it on me. If I ever live in a city where I leave my wallet at home when running because I might be attacked, it is time to move.

Don't you know that the key to not getting robbed is leaving all valuables at home. Once a thug finds out you only have your cell phone they politely thank you for your time and move on to the next most vulnerable target.

Usually it's the nicer neighborhoods that have some of your hoodie friends coming to stop by for a visit...they ain't there to see relatives.

OP, like shorty recommended, an LCP/LC9 is probably the type of gun you want for running/jogging.

I'd recommend an OC spray more than a gun as then you have dogs covered too.

Almost anything bulky makes jogging/running not so enjoyable.

As far as carrying it a fanny pack is the go-to choice. As a guy I am usually running shirt-less and unless I want to wear baggy shorts a gun is going to show in almost any IWB type of holster and even in baggy short it wouldn't be totally concealed.

Realistically though, what would you do in that situation presented earlier other than going rambo?

If you had drawn your weapon someone one else would probably have done the same or just suckerpunched you from behind.

I kind of do understand what you mean though, I've only been in Florida for about 6-7 months now and I've already had to deal with this shit a few times. Can't wait to leave.

Ironically how its always the same race that does it, you would think the rednecks would give me the biggest problems (I'm brown) but they're often the nicest people you meet.

Funny story though, I was taking a female friend of mine out for dinner, we were on our way back at a light with my windows down and this dude on a bike (pedal not motor) was trying to get her out of the car and to go back to his place, wtf? He started trying to open my doors and trying to talk through my sunroof when I rolled the windows up. Hell the only reason I didnt run him over once the light turned green was that I cared more about my paint job than I did about that.

I already have a p32, it's a .32 kel tec version of the LCP. I prefer my p238, and am willing to make sacrifices in order to carry it instead.

Good tip on the pepper spray, I've seen you recommend a particular type - I need to pick some up for my SO.

The 4-5 times I've been in a position where I thought it might come to that, merely putting my hand in my pocket and getting prepared to draw was enough to diffuse the situation.

It would be tough to sneak up behind me and get in a sucker punch. I'm not worried about that at all, in my experience it's usually a small group of thugs clearly looking to see if you're the type to fight back during a robbery.

And in that situation.. Yeah going rambo is pretty much how it would go down. Fight like crazy, back up 4-5 steps, draw and fire.

Could I? Yes. Do I? No. I don't think that if I am threatened while jogging that I would be able to pull it out and fire off a decent shot without putting others in danger. My heart rate would already be high, I'd be full of adrenaline, and likely it would be in an area with no "downrange" would be devoid of people. It just isn't safe.

If you want/need protection while out jogging, a dog is much better to have with you. That, and dogs are just plain awesome. Everyone knows this.

The police departments don't publicly post up when these things happen. It's up to the family whether or not the media runs a story, which is (unfortunately, imo) rarely the case.

Instead of telling you about my story of living in the most culturally-diverse city in my country, I'll just use your logic.

One group is made up of 95% lower class African Americans/blacks. They are 95% homogeneous. Therefore, they will have less conflict.

The suburban neighbourhood with a mix of middle to lower class whites, Asians, South Asians, Arabs, etc. will go ape shit.

Oh ya, and my neighbours are Jews, we have a Roman Catholic church on the same block, the rest of the street are Italians, one or two Asian families, some Eastern Europeans, some regular white people too... You should see the wars we have.

either way, no one's gonna mess with a jogger. 1, they're faster than someone who doesn't pull their pants up... 2, they can outlast them in a foot race... 3, not worth the effort.
