What doesn't it have to do with dying?

You can put effort into living "right", and live long. Or you can live however you feel like it, and probably die earlier, but maybe have a better life (diet and exercise only a cursory example of the ideology, don't read too much into it)

The realization that no matter how you live, death is coming, is what lets you realize that putting what would wind up being years and years of effort into living as long as you can is an exercise in futility.

I don't exercise so I can live longer. Longevity is a by-product of my motivation. I do it because I enjoy doing it and I enjoy being in shape. The results of a healthy body directly influence my quality of life.

That's not to say I don't enjoy a good burger, I do, but I think somewhere between Kate Moss and that 1,200-pound guy in Mexico a balance exists between good food and a healthy weight.

That being said, at times I’ve been terrified at the thought that I won’t be around anymore, but I’ve changed a bit of my thinking with regard to my place in this world, and really these days I don’t worry about it too much.

If she doesn't, she'll wind up dead with the crazies long before old age

Unless she's the next Liz taylor. Case of the crazies, but lives for 120 years

I couldn't possibly give a shit. It'll happen, it might be a complete surprise long before I expect it, could be slow and agonizing, or could be quick and right around the time I expect it.

The only thing that pisses me off about death is that I won't know if I ever made an significant impact on people in the upcoming generations. Even more so, I won't get to know whether civilization ever proved me wrong, won't get to see the future of science and technology, and won't get to see if we prove our worth as a sentient creature of the universe.

Those are the kinds of things that make me wish I can be a ghost after I die. One, scaring the shit out of people would never get old. And two, I could forever watch our progress, or failure. Also, I could stand guard over something or someone, a ghastly protector of sorts.

But alas, dead is dead. Oh well. I'll enjoy my creativity until then, and whenever I do die, I'll slip away with a big smile (for the humor of those taking care of my body) and have a wonderful sense of curiosity and intrigue, hoping, just hoping, that 1) there is nothing else, period, so the game can finally be over, and 2) maybe, just maybe, I'll be unplugged matrix style, or plugged in for the first time, and find out everything is just a code simulation and we're just data running amok. :awe:

When you die you go to either heaven or hell. Heaven is a small room with a bed, small table and a chair. On the table is a computer connected to the Internet of all Internets. Anything you could ever dream of is available through this computer. All in super high def through virtual reality goggles. Just think of it visit any city, see any person, have relationships with anyone, live your dreams and enact all your fantasies. It's a real life holodeck.

Hell is the same room with a 28.8kbps connection.

Its easy to accept. When you go to sleep each day, you lose all consciousness. You aren't aware that you even exist. That is how its going to be when you die. When you sleep, do you get all teary eyes and anxious? No.

it happens to everyone, i'm not sure why it would bother you, unless maybe it was going to happen too soon, like because of an accident or something.

Me personally... I'm planning on the exponential growth in knowledge and technology to continue. All it has to do is extend my life faster then I am dying.
Maybe one day I will figure out how to take an ethereal form.

But still I mean if you die and there is nothing how would you know, and besides I have had dreams that have seemed more real then the life I'm living now.
So yeah hope for there to be something, but if there isn't well... you simple don't exist in a state in which you could care.

I don't sweat it. We'll come back to life when the universe starts to close back in on itself and time starts to flow backwards.

I am not frightened of dying. There is no reason for it. We've all got to go sometime.

Oh can I hope for the small probability of reappearing some day as nothing ever has a 0% chance.

I was just fine before I was born, and I'll be just fine after I'm dead.

Everyone keeps saying this, but I completely and totally disagree. I was NOT fine before I was born. I was not around to be anything, much less fine. I will NOT be fine after I die for the same reason.

The world might have been fine before I was born, and it might be fine after I die, but the only time I get to be fine is the time I'm alive. Having been an alive, sentient, conscious, thinking, analyzing, cogitating, feeling, experiencing, LIVING entity; anything not involving those things is absolutely petrifying.

I feel like I'm on a runaway train barreling toward the most unknowable and awful thing that a living creature can experience, and I CAN'T STOP. To me, there is nothing in life that is more terrifying than the end of life, with a permanent end of consciousness running a close second.

I don't mind the idea of being dead one day. It's all those other days that I'll be dead that sucks.

No more headaches...no more back aches...no more dealing with fucktards on a daily basis... no more worries about anything - just peace and quiet. That's how I feel about dying.
