How do you fit an Hd in an 5.25 slot?

Hi,

I'm thinking of making my own Hd cooler by just adding some fans on my 5.25 bay slot.
How would i mount the hd. Do you guys use long screws or something.
I know there probably a good way to do it.
Let me know.

There are metal brackets that you can use to stick the hard drive in a 5.25 bay slot. They attack to each side of the hard drive. They're usually included in the retail packages when you buy a new HD. Might be some other ways out there, this is the only one i know of.

If your hard drive is the smaller ones (3.5's) then use drive rails that make the 3.5 drives fit 5.25 bays.

Yep, directron.com has 'em for sale. Just go to Hard drives -> Accessories, and you'll see them.

Drive rails let you slide drives into a bay. You want a set of 5.25" to 3.5" brackets. You can find them at any computer store for $5 or online for probally a buck.

Even better than spending $5.00 online for drive rails and get ripped on shipping or just wasting your money and buying drive rails.... Instead, go to your local Best Buy (I hope you have one of these locally, if not try a computer store), and buy a Drive (5.25) bay cooler. Best Buy carries the Antec brand one for $9.99 and you get a Drive (5.25) Bay cooler (good to keep your hard drive running cool, also promotes the life of the hard drive), mounting screws, and your drive rails. If not, then you can probably buy it online for relatively cheap. LMK if you need any more help.
