I use the extra strength Head and Shoulders that cools. If it's bad, you might want to consider washing your hair twice a day. You can also try only washing it every other day or two and see if your oil builds back up and prevents it.

Or you can see a doctor.

I don't know, it's never worried me. Never heard of anyone dieing of it, etc. I don't have it, haven't for years IIRC. They have dandruff treatment shampoos.

Neutrogena T-Gel works for me but that stuff is strong. I usually just let it snow unless it gets really bad (Head & Shoulders is worthless).

Real tea tree stuff works good with my hair. Using stuff like head and shoulders just dries the crap out of my hair and makes my dandruff even worse.

One tip that helped me a lot is making sure you completely wash out all traces of the shampoo you use. If you leave even a little it can cause dandruff.

Yup, if it doesn't work well go see a doctor or get something stronger. Head & Shoulder works miracles for me.

H&S gets rid of the dandruff, but be careful about drying out your scalp. Keep conditioning everyday. It takes time to repair your hair. Listen to the women. My gf bought me a bottle of nice conditioner. My hair was very stiff and still is rather coarse, but over a period of 3 months I've definitely seen improvement.

I agreed. I tried the most of the over the counter remedies to no avail. I went to a dermatologist and the he prescribed me shampoo and cream and the dandruff went away within 2 weeks.

Head and Shoulders and T-gel don't work for me.

Selsun Blue (Selenium Sulfide) gets rid of mine.

I had it pretty bad too but Selsun blue works wonders. I don't have to wash my hair every day anymore either. Every other or few days is fine.

Does it seem like anyone's scalp gets used to whatever you are using? I have to change after a couple of bottles of whatever I am currently using because it seems to stop working

Use an electric dog washer but if you have long hair they pull pretty hard! Ouch!

Take shower and wash hair every morning. Shampoo , rinse, then massage for 2-3 mins with conditioner. Still getting dandruff on my pillow (maybe less now with conditioner). There isn't much bubble for the conditioner, hope that's normal.

So how do you get rid of it? I am tempted to try head & shoulder for my next bottle.

Head and Shoulders Intensive. Comes in a dark blue bottle. I get bad dandruff in the winter and this stuff cleared it right up.

I had dandruff for 10 years... I tried everything and could not stop it. Went to 10 docs or so and they prescribed all kinds of junk, no luck.

Then I went to a new dermatologist about 4 months ago and he prescribed Luxiq for my head and Extina for my face and chest.

Miracle cure! All of it is gone... and hasn't come back. I rarely even use my Rx's now... although I'm tempted to not use them at all just to see if it comes back.

Are you serious? You're complaining about dandruff but haven't tried using a dandruff shampoo?

Since this thread has randomly reanimated itself, I will quote myself.
