How do you guys keep track of all your threads?!

I do a user search on myself then hit ctrl-f and search for myself in that thread. Then I strip naked and ogle at myself in the mirror.

But, a subscription will only give you a link to the thread. My method gives you a link right to your posts. This can be invaluable if the thread is 500 posts long and you've posted a dozen times in the thread.

I don't post as much as some but I click my username at the top right and go to statistics. Then search all posts by this user. Then go back a few posts. Works reasonably well.

But it doesn't help if the reply didn't have enough to indicate that you cared what was "up." I, too, support at least one additional level of nesting. Better yet, why not just collapse each nested quote with a button to expand them? I used to do this manually on the Penny-Arcade forums for longer nested quotes (their spoiler tags make a spoiler button that expands the hidden content).

I skim the thread until I see my avatar.

Skim from there seeing if anyone has quoted me.

If yes, reply. If no, seppuku.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Do you ever repeat? I mean what kind of nasty does your hair have to be to repeat? I've brushed my teeth more than once after a nasty meal. I guess if you have nasty dandruff or really greasy hair you might have to do it more than once?

I automatically subscribe to all threads that I post in, with e-mail notifications on.

Then I either actually read the thread from my last post on or I use the browser search feature for my login to see if anyone quoted or commented on my post(s).

Is it really that hard?

(Also, sometimes I simply abandon threads when they get too long because, honestly, by then, the thread has deteriorated into a jumbled mess of useless information.)
