How the hell do you guys keep track of all your discussion threads and your posting into a huge thread?

I barely have enough time in my day to go in and keep track of the ones I started.

My theory:
1. You spend more time on OT than at work.
2. Your F5 button is the only button on your keyboard that the label is rubbed off.
3. I am not as 37337 as you guys.

I dont keep track of all my threads.
A couple months ago I suggested two videos on Youtube. One to watch and one to listen to. It was awesome. Now I cant recall what they were, and I cant find the thread where I posted both of them together.

I am sad.

-automatically subscribe to all threads you post in
-user cp -> new subscribed threads -> read the last few replies in the thread or maybe ctrl f to see if anyone quoted me

It's impossible to keep track of posts in a huge thread. I usually go through the first page and then skip everything else and read the last page. The middle is usually a jumbled mess of quotes that mean absolutely nothing.

I wish they'd enable nested quoting already. The way quoting is now sucks ass big time.

Before I post, I write down my full post in a notebook. After posting, I write url next to the text I put in the book. That makes it easy to go back to the threads I've posted in.

No need to subscribe.

The answer is here.

This solution will take you right to your posts.

Click User CP off the menu at the top, then Your Profile at the top of the second column, click the tab Statistics, there is the link you want.

If you want to save the link, right click it and choose bookmark or save. Do not try to save/bookmark the page after it resolves after you click on the link.

We really need at least one level of nested quotes.
I'm going to agree with you but for this reason only. When say I quote a relevant part of a link and add my own commentary, if someone quotes me, the quote disappears leaving only the commentary whcih can sometimes be confusing.

I don't, nor do I care to. I might scan the first page and look for the icon saying I posted in a thread. I don't go much further.

What if someone asks a question about something you post? Or, what if you're wrong about something and someone points it out, don't you want to know that you were mistaken?

I always review my posts and the rest of the thread after my posts. I wouldn't have posted in the thread if the subject didn't interest me.

If I'm that interested in a thread I might just leave a tab open. Otherwise, if it's important (and it never is), someone will PM me. But the only time I'm actually interested in a thread is probably something from H&F, where replies are limited so a thread I posted in is usually near the top.

I set up subscriptions for all threads I post in with no notifications. Then I go to the subscription page.

But, a subscription will only give you a link to the thread. My method gives you a link right to your posts. This can be invaluable if the thread is 500 posts long and you've posted a dozen times in the thread.
