Yes, the same mug that you use to drink coffee or other hot beverage with a handle sticking out the side.

Usually "3 fingers gripping the handle, pinkie curled into palm" where the bottom of the handle rests on top of my pinkie. For smaller mugs I use 2 fingers.

Two fingers curled around handle supported with thumb on top part of handle, ring finger pressed against the handle and pinky just underneath the ring finger.

If the mug is well insulated and the outer part is not burning hot, 4 fingers around the cup and within the area of the handle. Thumb wrapping around the cup. This looks similar to shaking someones hand.

Same for both. Sometimes I'll only use one finger through the handle and my thumb on top.

Index and middle finger through the handle and curled back towards hand. Bottom two fingers curled in. Thumb on the top of the handle to stabilize it (so it doesn't swing like a rudder).

I usually have the handle in the back with my middle and ring fingers inside the handle and my pointer and pinky outside the handle. 2 in 2 out.

The mug I'm using right now for my coffee is a clear glass ale mug from a local brewery/pub. Works fine for coffee. I have an alternate, which is a beer mug from Germany - fired clay, somewhat larger. I insist on a mug big enough for a big cup of coffee. Both of these accommodate 4 fingers, and I use them.

4 fingers around, handle outward, unless driving then i grip it by the top so i can it out of/into the holder quickly. Most mug handles are too damn small anyways.
