I had thought about buying that case, but it was a tad expensive. I'm not a big fan of doors either. And when you get into a case like that, there are huge chances of something hard to fix breaking.

I was thinking about getting it. I liked everything about it except the front ventalation consisting of a few holes in the side of the front panel; that made me not want it.

There is actually a large ventilation hole on the bottom of the case in between the front "legs". Unless you have 2-inch thick carpeting, it's not getting blocked. Also, the Lexa has really nice filters in front of the intake fan in the front and the vent on the bottom of the case. I really don't understand why people are calling this case fugly, either.

If anyone wants to hear my personal review of the Lexa, just reply to this.

Edit: I can also take pictures and put them up on Photobucket if anyone was interested in seeing certain views/angles/whatever.

Why can't manufacturers just stick to a more understated aesthetic? That's why I picked the Antec P150. Power supply was crap, though. I bought mine back in 2005 when the problems with the NeoHE started cropping up.

Not with this case. They would actually need to use more plastic to create the front bezel if it were perfectly flat. The door is an inch and half deep at its thickest, and about a half inch at its thinnest. If it were flat like the P180 door, it would have to be 1.5 inches deep the entire height of the door. The door couldn't be any thinner otherwise, as it would not shut with my X-fi break out box in place.

So how is this wasting space?

haha that Lian-Li is fugly. I also say nay to the poll. Anything with windows is just a big nay. I don't understand why nobody can make a nice simple, sleek design like the older coolermasters (the new ones I think just look terrible and cluttered).

Unless you've got a environment built around the same degree of curve, you're wasting space.

When I look at a case, I want to see functionality. Every element of the case should be focused at enhancing existing functionality, or adding additional functionality. Merely aesthetic elements are a waste of time, money, and space.

Stick a type R sticker on it, lol.

I don't really understand your need to "save space" on the front of a case with a door anyway..... but it seems like everyone hates this case for some "reason".

Somebody just please tell me what the P180 or any Lian-Li have over this case.

I agree the P180 looks better, but it weighs 70 pounds and is a huge b1tch to work with. My friend just got rid of it because he hated it. I worked with it some too, and I agree with him, worst case ever.

And I'm not sure why everyone holds onto Lian-Li like they're anything special. I thought they were supposed to be great for cooling, but I still see the majority of Lian-Li cases with 80mm fans only. No thank you.

That is a pretty sleek case. I didn't know Gigabyte stuck their name on cases now. But why do case manufacturers still insist on having doors open backwards??? Do you ever see refrigerators that open from right to left? noo...

i got a lian li pc-1000(sig) and i have two 120mm fans, blowing 100~ cfm each. not loud exactly, but my temps are very low, load is low 40's, idle is mid 30's with this cpu with a stock cooler(the core 2 duo, havent updated that yet). my amd 64 ran 30-31C and load was 35c. i never broke 100f with it. so yeah, when you get those kinda temps, you kinda like lian li a bit more than the rest.

The temp. probes on my Lexa (the case everyone is hating on) report 26C inside the case, 28C for the HDD, and 31C for the CPU. I would estimate the room temp. is about 24-25C. I have an Opteron 170 which I believe runs quite a bit hotter than an Athlon 64.

so yeah, I kinda like my Lexa better than the rest.
