<< I favor pratical names over some of the other names listed. Usually it includes the processor speed in it or some other aspect of the machine, but my computer at school is named Unknown. It works well for network anonymity. >>
Just like me - I have to work with too many computers to keep them straight. Only a good naming convention can help. So I have names like:
486-66, Pi-133, Pii-dual-450, Piii-450, Piii-600, Piv-dual-1700, AXP-1533 , etc...
It is uncreative but sure helps me find the computers quickly. Then on each computer I name the drives in a boring manner: System, Data, Temp, Games, etc... depending on the number of drives.
I use Unknown for names and temporary passwords quite often (don't bother trying unknown is not for any password that you guys can access over the internet).
