My friend says correct way is A-coo-rah but that old guy in Pulp Fiction says A-cue-rah so which is it?

I don't know how you get two constant sounds out of a single letter 'c'. The only way to get a double constant sound in Japanese is two of the same constant directly following each other.

I had no idea that this was even debatable.

I think the obvious answer is that your friend is an idiot.

They don't sell Acuras in Japan, so who cares how it would be pronounced in Japanese? Their own commercials pronounce it the way burntfish pronounces it.
Edit: On second though, It's hard to tell how either of you pronounce it from the way you wrote it, so I'm not sure which of you is right.

See, the problem is, people are speaking it in English, when they forget "Acura" is a Japanese car brand (i.e. Honda). If you look at hiragana, you will see that most of the way people are typing it out, is simply not going to work in Japanese.

Look at this webpage:
http://www.omniglot.com/writing/japanese_hiragana.htm

Take 'a' + "ku" + "ra"

You wouldn't use "ko", because that's a "koh" sound, not a "koo" sound like "ku" provides.
