Pronunciation threads are fail b/c while DAY-ta is pretty straightforward, D-Ah-ta is....well fail.

D-Ah-ta signifies that there are 3 syllables when Data only has 2. Then, "Ah" can be pronounced differently by itself. So WTF are you trying to go for with "D-Ah-ta"?

I think he meant Dah - ta

Data is always plural, but nobody ever uses datum. I think I might say day-ta as mentioned above when it's more singular.
