Actually, if we wanna go back, how they say it is correct and you american's changed the language.

Remember where it came from?
That would be WRONG. Jaguar is spanish in origin, not english.

It's like saying "Porsh-uh". Jaguar is a British company and should be pronounced in the British manner, just as Porsche is German and should be pronounced in the German manner. Or like how, "Chevrolet", being a French name, is pronounced "Shev-ruh-lay" instead of "Chev-row-let".

Here in Michigan we pronounce it Shev-Row-Lay

Aluminium, the 'British' spelling, is, in fact, the American spelling. Aluminum, the 'American' spelling, was originally British. They just both got munged around back in the 1920's.

Actually, to be safe, I add a few more i's and u's to the word. Just for thoroughness.

I have never heard anyone pronounce it any of the three ways you've listed in the poll.

I pronounce it ja-gwär. I've heard it pronounced jag-wire.

Except unlike Porsche and Chevrolet, Jaguar is an English word.

When you pronounce Volkswagon, do you say "volks wagon" or do you say "folks vagen"? Because it's a German company and the latter would be the correct way to say it.

Those three ways are approximations of the three correct pronunciations listed in Webster's.

I say "jag-you-er" and "folksvagen," but I'm the exception rather than the rule in California.

"jag-waur" looks nothing like anything listed in Webster's.

Considering that the standard suffix for elements is IUM, that is how it SHOULD be spelled and pronounced. We Americans have modified it since someone did not like the way it sounded.
