Any ideas?

I usually listen to the radio, use the iTunes music store, browse radio station websites, but I'm looking for new meathods. I occasionally use Myspace but there is a lot of bad music there...

What do you use most frequently to find new music?

Recommendations from people, radio, mostly.

I don't like to try new music, though, so I need to make sure I like the way an artist sounds before I check it out. This usually means liking at least two songs.

I guess it depends on the type of music.
Here in So Cal, there is a great radio station called KCRW, 89.9 and they have great new music every so often. That or you can listen to the trendy ass stations, but all that is just junk and repeatative.

Pandora is a good choice.

Sometimes I'll see a band recommended somewhere and then download a random song of theirs off WinMX.

I also go to all music guide and look at artists I like, and then there are links to similar artists. Also at amazon.com I will look at cds I like, and they have links to similar items and items that other people bought. Then I will read some reviews on metacritic and listen to song samples. Of course talking to other people and listening to friends' music.

I hate to waste $$ so I like to make sure I will enjoy a new cd purchase.

allofmp3.com lets you preview music. i like that. they have a good selection of music.
occasionally i'll use napster.

I listen to a lot of metal and I'm a Sirius subscriber so I hear new bands all the time on channel 27.

There is another site that suggests music in much the same way as pandora. I don't remember the name, anyone have that link?

Gnoosic.com allows you to enter up to 3 artists/bands and gives some suggestions, and the options of: like, dislike, and don't know. Not as fancy looking as pandora.

I pretty much know the music styles I like so if I am on a website like Allmusic or whatever, I'll often see who does music like them and obtain some of it.

Me too. Browsing genres, random artists, and listening to samples.

What I really miss is the old mp3.com, and how they had music set up for free (legal) download prior to their losing the lawsuit and selling out.

If you're into J-pop, an episode or two of any Anime is great way to get introduced to some songs.
