Someone on Facebook posted this picture of the dude next to him on the plane that was hogging the armrest.

I wanted to talk smack and tell him to turn in his man card, but I didn't know him like that. I always claim the armrest no matter who it is. No compromises.

Try to claim the armrest early before your neighbor gets to their seat. If they arrive first or you slip up and don't get your arm on the armrest first, there is a way to get it back. Get your elbow into the area of the armrest nearest to the seat back. Usually there will be a small unoccupied bit of armrest there. Slowly over time weasel your arm forward. Use little bumps and bits of turbulence to disguise your slow march ahead. Executed properly your arm will snatch up little bits of armrest a square inch at at time. As your arms touch more and more your neighbor may shift their arm a little bit hoping to create an arm buffer. Seize this buffer as your own. Soon it will all be yours.
