Using Outlook Express - I can get incoming email at a free wifi location, but when I try to send email, I get error message "Relay access denied". I need to change my outgoing server - but what do I change it to? Help please.
If you've hijaaked someone's WiFi you need to find out what SMTP server they use, either their ISP or a local one if they one setup. If it's a real free WiFi spot you'll need to ask them, they might not provide a SMTP server for you.
SMTP servers (that are properly configured) will reject you if you are not on their network in order to stop spammers. So if you are on SBC's network, you cannot use Comcast's outgoing mail servers.
That said, some mail services will allow you to connect from any network but require you to log on first. Many webhosts have this feature.
