Hey, I'm thinking about tinting my case window, should I buy the stuff you use for cars? Do I apply it on the inside or outside of the window? How dark should I get, I want to be able to see my CCFL, but I heard you can make it look like there is no window with good tinting. Thanks

car tint is sticky, i'm sure it would stick to plastic too. and onthe inside like with cars.

removal with razorblade would seem to be impossible though...so be careful

well, when you ask how dark you should get you have to think of a couple things, such as do you not want to be able to see anything unless the light is on, or do you just want it a little dark.

I believe that they go by percentages... obviously, you can think of 0% as no tint, and 100% as not at all transparent. I would guess that limosines with blacked out windows have somewhere around 80% tint and that the average car's factory tint job is somewhere around 20-30%

Personally, I'd go for around 40%, I would guess that you could see some things inside if you looked hard enough, but with a light behind it it would be clear.

Thanks, I guess I'll try 40%. I want to not be able to see anything unless the light is on. Anyone know of any guides on applying this stuff?

just to let you know, its the other way around...

0% means no light in and 100% means 100% light in

so 10% is very dark, so your 40% is actually 60% that you are looking for
